I did this on the old Datto when trying to get crud out from top tank of the radiator.

Find a decent 2L bottle that has an opening that can fit as snug as possible into the opening of the radiator. I used an orange juice bottle. Some electrical tape around the thread will ensure a snug fit.

Half fill the bottle then jam it into the radiator opening and start the car. Once things get warm the water circulates and you will see the crud circulate into the bottle. Whisk it away and repeat a few times.

Egg and pepper works much better. As the water heats up, the egg 'cooks' and finds/clogs the holes, and the pepper helps if they're a bit big for egg on its own.

'Degassing' a petrol tank so you can weld or cut it with a grinder safely. With the tank out, drained and rinsed with water, connect a hose from the tailpipe of a running car into the filler neck and let it go for 15 to 20 mins. The heat evaporates any liquid and the CO replaces any oxygen that may contain petrol fumes.

If I have a problem with a car I give Dad a call, without fail when he comes round to have a look the problem magically dissapears and I look like a fool because nothing is wrong. And when he leaves the problem comes back.

When you have finished working on the car and your hands are covered in grease, oil and god knows what else, Sard wonder spray cleans it off in no time! I learnt this trick from my old man, needless to say, Mum isn't too happy when I've been working on my car/my brothers car!

Or just good old washing powder, the best easy to come by hand cleaner available at every household. Soap and an abrasive combined = WIN for clean hands after tinkering.
(Mind you i have a supply of Wurth sabesto Hand Cleaner - $40 a tub, lasts for 2- 3 years! The best)
