I went to my local Ford dealer (prefer not to name at this stage) and the best price I could get on a SR auto was $37,800 driveaway. The local Holden dealer has a Commodore SVZ for $32,950 driveaway. From a specification point of view the are quite similar. $5k is a big saving.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Andrew

Just wait 2 months till the VE comes out.

$32,888 seems to be THE driveaway price on a BF SR. That's if you want a white one. Add $355 for any metallics.

This is all spot on advise, but start looking at a demo, that may have options on them, & see how you go getting the price down. You will be plesently surprised

The VE...... will it be 2 months or will it be 5? Then there is the possible issue that because Holden lovers are hanging out for them that all stock will be taken at full retail for the first few months?

The biggest advantage of waiting for the VE though is the flood of cars on the used car market when it is released. It has seriously crossed my mind that I should wait, mainly for this reason.

I do like the idea of a brand new car though, there is just something about it!

Spoolman,

Sathis pm'd me the other night, and to be honest I haven't got back to him as I have been in Sydney for the last couple of days and havn't had much internet time.

Like someone else on the LPG thread, I am still arguing with the Minister for War and Finance (the missus) about what we are going to buy size wise. I do 95% of the driving in both of our cars (2002 Mazda Astina, 96 EF Falcon and 66 Mustang), but when she does drive she freaks about parking. She really like the new Focus (which admittedly is a nice car), and in the city traffic I could drive one to and from work, but the difference in price between one of those and a Falcon is so small I can go past the Falcons value.

So in a nutshell, I should reply to Sathis (sorry I have been a bit slack mate) but I also don't want to waste his time until we make a final decision.

Cheers,

Hally
