I hate living in the sticks (and making bad calls re: weather!) :
Sounds like you all had a great time! I'll make it there ONE DAY...Bastards At least I did something E-series related yesterday... I lowered my shifter housing by about 5cm thru the trans tunnel. Lookin spiffy now, although its underside is precariously close to the gearbox AND the tailshaft. And I've got a much bigger hole in the trans tunnel that I'll need to plug up somehow (metal or rubber). Meh. Also, the weather was dodgy out my way so I couldn't get under the car to fiddle with some other things. It can wait ;) So off to Ford Spare Parts tomorrow to get a manual console cover, and then I'll get to work on the leather boot sometime in the week -Dave- |

Yeah as I said in the other thread it was a great night! I too agree this should be an annual event! I was a bit dissapointed with my car's times but ah well can only improve. I've just been looking through my timeslips and my best was actually 15.0759@90.16mph so pretty close to the 14s. Just need to get my clutch fixed up and I should be running 14s easily enough.
I only got one video last night which was of slowea doing a burnout and then reversing up and you can hear it knocking... so that will be posted up soon |

Great night people, big thanks to neb for organising the meet.
I ran a pb of 14.17@97.8mph, I just cant seem to get into the damn 13's. Re. heathcote timing boards, its the right lane that always seems to give the problems.

Yeah, I suspect i have tailshaft unis on the way out, a bit of a buggered diff and either a seized caliper or a warped rotor. Amazing amount of damage caused from only 4 runs. On the bright side, i went out with a BANG : Thanks to all who organised this meet, was great fun regardless, was also good to catch up with my old car club. Had my car not rooted itself, i soooo woulda had best burnout in the bag :evilking:

Hey guys,
Thanks so much for a great day yesterday. This was an event that so many missed out on, that I hope they are kicking themselves. It was a huge day, great atmoshpere, and your members were all great people and very friendly. I am sorry I crossed to the dark side and sold my ford (I already had 3 skylines, and the BA was a POS), but it was really cool to see you guys laughing at my number plates on my old green Ti R31 (Number plates say nancee), and then hear the comments after her very respectable burnout and 14.5 second pass. That was a PB for the old girl. It was a shame there were not more NA R31's and more turbo or forced induction E series there, it was a bit lopsided on the NA and FI scale. What a shame about the luverly red car that went bang. Lucky you had a trailer. All the skyline nuts really wanted to see that car run. Heres a small link to the clip of Nancee doing her best. http://www.zippyvideos.com/90784262903995.html All in all, it was bloody cold, but a great day, thanks again guys. Can't wait till next year, and hopefully, we will get a few more hard nosed enthusiasts there. Last edited by cazz; 22-08-2005 at 07:54 AM. |

Thanks for the comments cazz, I did see that respectable burnout very nice indeed!!
I can't wait for next year either, hopefully we'll have an even better turn out next time and a few more turbo falcons to give the skylines a good run! hmm waiting on swoop to post up some videos!!! |

Alright here is the burnout from my first run of the day. After this I didn't bother to do any big burnouts because I was running on the 17s all day.
http://www.zippyvideos.com/122978017909945.html btw, does anyone have a clip of Jared's burnout? Ash

Looks like everyone had a good time. Well done to those who gave it a go, especially the PBs. Hopefully SLOWEA can recover quickly.
Back in 2002 I was a regular contributor to the R31 forums with the ulterior motive of arranging a Heathcote day just like this. I'm disappointed I couldn't make it this time, but Jase and I were working on my car that day. With any luck we'll arrange the next one in only 6 months, not a year. |

Also, I was running consistent mid 15's all day, with a best of 15.45 (just behind your PB) When I said running 17s, I meant the rear tyres. I honestly expected to go a bit quicker hoping for at least a 15.3 Ash
