Well here in Adelaide about 7 pm tonight your cabbage patchers time (VIC)

We copped a 5 min heavy down pour as Darwin has,All my gutters (spouting for you cabbage patchers) were pi55ing over, road was awash...

But I feel for all the poor hippies at the Womadelaide and the Fringe Festival, all held in the parklands, and all the grass is dead cos of the drought...

So it will be Woodstock all over...

It is always terrible to see your pride and joy damaged. Hopefully your insurance will get it better than new again

So far at work, we're about $1,000,000 + in damages from the hail. The IT room roof collapsed and killed all our servers and thats about $1,000,000 there just alone. Severe water damage on multiple floors, at one stage on level 2, there was a geyser coming out of the carpet spewing water and ice about 1 meter high. A lot of TVs bit the dust too.

Also the channel 7 truck got a direct hit by lightning, everyone inside it was fine luckily but all their equipment is fried, which is some big $$$. Also a small fire started nearby.

I was driving along Plenty road, Preston at the time of the storm. Very heavy rain, and a bit of hail as well. Not bad like others have posted, but you still wouldn't want to leave your car uncovered in that weather.

After getting home (I just avoided a supermarket trolley had overturned and blocked half the road) I parked under a tree, and ran inside. I've just taken a look at the car; thus far, I can't see any damage. I'll do a final check tomorrow to see if I've missed any damage.

Yeah we got smashed in Rowville... 5 windows shattered at home and my G/F's mazda 3 is a write off (see pic).

I saw what was coming and dived into a petrol station to get out of it so the ute, my G/F and I are all fine.... but I did manage to get some footage in the middle of it and it was truly amazing.... closest thing to a hurricane I reckon I'm likely to see in VIC. The jolts to the camera after the one minute mark are the car shaking not the camera!

Wow I actually missed a lot of the crazy weather, I only faced driving to the city area and just saw lots of leaves on cars and just flooding. Glad I didn't have to face those massive hail stones.

Are there meant to be any more coming?

quite a few guys on ls1 have had cars fully pelted, some likely write-offs. One guy had his home windows broken plus 3 cars all parked outside.

I’ll take back what I said about our AU not being damaged. The roof is covered with small dents and there’s quite a few on the bonnet. My BA only has one small dent on the front of the bonnet which I should be able to rub out with the screw driver handle, hopefully.

Holy crap! That's nasty! Looks like it was as bad as the hailstorm in Sydney in 1999. I remember that one as my step brothers car was rooted (luckily only a sh!tbox) and he copped a few on scone as big as the one in the pic above. I really feel for those of you that have had your cars/homes damaged.

FAR OUT. Ok what I saw on Lygon was nothing like that. Ive got another vid that shows an impressive amount of rain..ill upload it later.

Feel for those who got hit, glad I couldn't find a park on the street!

something the vid will show is how dark it got, honestly its like the sun disappeared. The restaurant turned there outside lights on before it got nasty.

I'm sure the insurance companies will be extremely overwhelmed with all this so you can't really expect them to sort it out too quickly.

Thankfully here in Frankston we didn't really cop it too badly. I feel for anyone who had their property damaged...my poor mum cops the double whammy as not only does she live in Chapel St, where there was some serious flooding, but she works for AAMI as well and is sooo not looking forward to going to work today.
As much as everyone thinks that their own repairs and claims take priority, please inderstand that that the staff will be under the hammer and doing everything they can to get claims sorted quickly.
