I love the sound of a blower on an angry 8, but Turbo spool ups sound wicked too.
Nothing gets my hair standing on end, like the sound of a lumpy 8, cruising around Summernats, with a blower and bug catcher hanging out the bonnet. : |

I have to say blower. Just hearing the sound of LTDHO's supercharged V8 is enough to give me goosebumps

Anyone remember that scene from mad max when the blower is activated for the first time. Still can hear the sound of the blower in the back of my ears :sm_drool:

I need a better turbo. Damn thing runs out of puff too easily. : Still loving the turbo spool though. I rarely see a S/C vehicle being Canberra and all but they do sound good and I forgot to mention that in my earlier post. It all depends on application I suppose.

any1 got any sound files of both the Blower and the Turbo?....would love to hear some great examples....
I voted for Turbo.....(same sorta thing as Steffo said) but i cant stand a constant whine....gets annoying after a while.

Blower whine sounds tougher than a turbo spooling (in most applications).

Spool or whine?
Both are pretty nice, but supercharger whine takes preference. Go the Dose though. |

I like a forced induction solution that is silent to the untrained ear.

I like both the turbo and the Blower, but the blower would be my favorite...
I think the blower wine followed by a short blow off would take the cake. Quote:
Here is a vid of blower noise on my ute. Cr@ppy quality but you get the idea.

G'day Kev Mate I just viewed your vid and thought your ute sounded awesome. I own a BA 04XR8 ute and am looking currently at a few extra mods. I have followed your experience with cams through the forum. I have also been researching blowers for my ute. The feedback that I had heard was that the Yella Terra (whipple) twin screw blower was that it was fairly quiet. From your vid this doesn't seem the case.My thoughts are that if im going to spend 10K on a blower I want to be able hear it sing. I'd love to hear your thoughs on both whether or not to cam a 260 or how you have found the blower. Cheers 4MYEGO. |
