I'm gonna read the three documents posted... I have had intentions in the past of becoming a payed member of a club... but I never thought it was worth it... payed members were just payed members and that was it... by the sounds of this tho... payed members will have decent input.

Get back to you on my intentions

Josh.

dont hate me for this , but its just a question.

Why is the part of the forum that was changed to just have e-series cars in it , now changed again to someone/some people with absolute power. Isnt this the reason why the first group had trouble. What ever happend to just being a public group ?

the whole charging people to join is pretty rough as well , and limiting the amount of people you can bring on an event is fair , but why limit fun , what if its a family ?

sorry , its 6am and im in a frantic mood to ask questions

daniel

Daniel,

This area has always been dedicated to vehicles of this era and was previously occupied by another club. When they were no longer here it was decided to form a new club to cater for those of us who have vehicles that are covered by the constitution of this newly formed club. It is a new club occupying what would have been an empty space on this forum. There is no one with absolute power and we will be holding elections for a committee very shortly.

There is only a limit on how many other cars you can bring so we can keep things under a bit of control and keep our events both family and police friendly. We totally encourage families at events and hope that this will happen from the onset of our cruises and events.

This is a new club and as far as fees are concerned there are always costs involved in the running of a club whether it be a car club or a knitting club, hence the fees. I might add that as others have stated the fees are a lot less than any other car club that I know of.

Hope this helps.

Ohhhhhhh & I must add YIHAAAAAAAAAA we are public

The forums are still public with the biggest difference being the OzeCruisers are an incorporated club. No-one has absolute power, it is committee based like every other inc. club. THe members vote the commitee in, if they don't like it or the direction the club takes , they elect someone else.

Have a look at the rest of the sub forums listed on AFF in the 'club and speciality' forums and of the 21 'clubs' their would be 4 or 5 that are free.
The rest would have administration fees and cost associated with the activities above what you read in the forums.

The club isn't limiting fun, you can bring a car full to everything if you like, You have misunderstood slightly what the by law is trying to achieve. It is simply stating that if your mate wants to tag along in his CAR, that those guests must abide by the rules of the club. If they do not have permission to attend an event as a guest they have no accountability for their actions. AS a club you don't want leaches ruining it for all the members.

correct me if im wrong.
but i think membership allows things like the website to continue to run
and the addition of documents & tuts that cost the club money so members can view for free.
heres how i think of it......

if you have taken info from this site which helped you save money (DIY) then i think it would be fair that you pay the small fee to allow the site to continue to grow & operate.

For those having trouble emailing with the link in the PDF:

Go to Internet Explorer.
Select Tool / Internet Options from the top menu.
Click on the Programs Tab.Next to Email ensure that you have a program (can be Eudora, Outlook etc.) showing in that box.
This sets the default mailer that the form uses.
Only the XML data is sent - not the entire form.

If you have no default mailer then you can save the entire form and email that by attaching it to a message.

Cheers
Russ

No problems in asking questions Daniel - not in the least.
It needs to be pointed out that the incorporation of the club, along with the Club Constitution, and By Laws have been put in place to firmly deal with the issue of 'someone / some people' being able to abuse their position(s) and assume absolute power.
Oz E Cruisers has been structured in such a way as to ensure that the club is ALL about the members, and to quote from the constitution
2. OBJECT

2.1 The object of the club is to actively promote and encourage the modification, maintenance and legal use of all vehicles.

2.1 (i) The club wishes to foster an environment where ALL members feel at home, regardless as to whether they own a stock or modified vehicle, irrespective of how long they have owned the vehicle, and where one can discuss the constituent vehicles without fear of denunciation or hostility.

At Oz E Cruisers our mission is simple—to provide a club of like minded people that can enjoy social gatherings and motor sport in a safe and family friendly environment. Everyone from the novice to the seasoned veteran will find the atmosphere friendly and the events to be exciting and invigorating.

2.2 The club is a non-profit organisation.
In order for these objectives to be met, Club By Laws have been drafted, so as to make members( including the committee members that are appointed to act as representatives) responsible, and answerable for their actions. If persons are not acting in good faith, or behaving in a manner that is not within acceptable limits, then systems are in place to make them answerable for their actions.
The club structure allows for family membership, and it is hoped that family members will be encouraged to participate / attend events.
The limits on 'guests' etc is in place to make organising events / meets a more streamlined affair, as well as making it easier for the club to protect itself / and its members from those that may not have the clubs best interests at heart.
Obviously prospective members may wish to attend events prior to joining a club, if for no other reason then to assure themselves that the club is inline with their expectations.
The incorporation and supporting documents is all that has changed, and merely formalises what is acceptable and what is not.

It is hoped that the club will have events occuring right around Australia, and not just the major centres. Ultimately this comes down to the membership making itself heard, and putting ideas / suggestions forward.
I live on the Northern end of the Central Coast, and work in Sydney, so know exactly what you are saying about not having events close to home. There is no reason why 'mini meets / cruises can't be organised in specific areas to accomodate 'regional needs'.
I know in the past I have organised a few runs like George Downs drive from Kulnura up to Cessnock for lunch, then back down the coast road. Lake Macquarie "lake run" etc. Have also participated in a couple of runs that started at Hexham Macca's (albeit with mates / different clubs) Tis just a matter of coming up with a good workable route, and altering the start / finish points to suit.
