One would wonder how did that appliance Camry manage to sell 27654 units in 2015 ? Maybe because it does cover its target market well.

Aurion isn't a bad mousetrap if that is your sort of thing. Camry is a reliable appliance targeted at an audience that isn't represented much here on AFF. Will be sorry to see them and the Commodore go (as I am saddened at the loss of Broadmeadows) as it will make it tough to bring manufacturing back here as the component industry will struggle. Australia will be diminished as a result.

Find a Toyota salesman who isn't smashing targets though.

Fair enough. I don't think it's a bad thing that Toyota doesn't focus on big engined fast cars (supercharged 6 in the TRD Aurion may have been their only attempt at the market?). They're not American, it's not their thing, and certainly cars like the Supra, Celica and 86 have their enthusiasts.

Ford is American, and as such, big beefy engines IS their thing, yeah, and ours.

Can't say I've ever been in an Aurion, but they don't look any worse than a Falcon. The only Camry I've driven had CVT, and I have hated every car with CVT, so that's that. Focus? I took one for a drive when I was looking to replace my Corolla. Awful. Looked awful outside. Was newer than my Corolla but looked 10 years older, and drove like a slug. My Corolla wasn't a sports sedan or a hot hatch, but it got the job done, and had a far better stereo than any Ford, because I could put my own in. I miss that in cars.

In the end what I don't really get is the vitriol. Sure, some of the people in the thread are trolls (evidenced by them having nothing positive to say about any car but Commodores), but everyone is acting like a Camry transformed into a robot, raped their dog, murdered their mother and took a crap on the bonnet of their Falcon.

Being the fridge it won't need diff bushes ever :-) Camry will still be imported after local manufacturing ceases so Camry jokes will provide some fun in years to come .

Where will Aus Camries come from after factory closure? Sure hope it's not assembled by ladyboys in Thailand. Ranger, focus, current gen Corolla are already off my list of potential purchases for this reason.

Why is that? The Thai built cars have better build quality than locally built cars. Would it make you feel better if a white fella built your car?

wow, that's probably the lowest of lows right there. Generalising a nation of people and then using that to judge the quality of a car.

Apparently these are available for a limited time on all new Camry / Aurion purchases made before June 30

A must have for the back window when the grand kids are on board
