If the world was serious about saving the planet they need to stop the stinking throw away mentality that everyone has. How much pollution is pumped out manufacturing mr riches new snob mobile every 3 years? Back in the day everything could be repaired and lasted years and years, you spread the emissions used to produce things out over a longer period.

But I guess that would mean we couldn't have shiny new things all the time

So offshore drilling for black goo to power the latest shiny new thing as opposed to a long term investment in an updatable ZEV is the conundrum.

There I go thinking I’m in the pub section relating to vehicle emissions.
But it was moved because someone couldn’t make the connection.
Mobile is a funny word.

Are you suggesting that they hadn’t factored in volcanic activity for the last 600 odd years.......(back when animal husbandry commenced) ?.

According to Media Watch The Australian has made a decision to acknowledge the climate change realities by coauthoring, with scientists assisting, the reality of the accelerating emergency as a fundamental change of editorial position.
The question is as to exactly how long it will transfer to their tabloids and particularly Sky After Dark spruikers.......or 2GB table thumpers.
Then will he accept the medical advice on PM2.5 and noxious gasses reducing life expectancy for the most exposed?.

Maybe Lachlan has indicated that he’d quite enjoy taking over a viable organisation.

We always were IQ wise :-) , and we are not called "The City of Light" for nothing but in reality:

a) we have more urban sprawl ; and
b) we generally have less cloud cover than other Australian cities.

Coming home from work sunday evening at 5.30pm, three houses already had their woodheaters going. Thats two weeks into autumn. I can't wait for the globe to start heating. We are an hour and a half east of melbourne.

You should see it when 3 locomotives exit a tunnel under full power. From a distance you would think there has been an explosion ahead. I had a video but it's on my old computer that's packed away.

We are given full on proper breathing apparatus to travel through the big tunnels that are at the top of steep hills because even with windows closed and AC on recirculate the fumes get inside.

Well THAT MG had a PM2.5 filter that did an amazing filtering job and I wonder if any other manufacturer has similar filtering efficiency.

An ex-neighbor tradie of ours died not long after demonstrating on our extension exactly why he regarded the powered hacksaw as his favourite tool.
The accumulated exposure to dust killed him.

Speaking of coal, Japan are building at least 20 new coal-burning power plants.

And German is closings all theirs.

Japan has no natural resources of sufficient quantity, has always been an importer of energy and doesn’t trust its nuclear sector now.

Keep reading these very informative posts regarding how ICE power is better for environment, because of Co2 produced mining precious metals required for batteries, or the coal burnt to re-charge, etc, etc, etc.

Can you please provide the data for the amount of Co2 produced to get the petrol from the ground, to after it's burnt in an ICE? From the very begging of the oil extraction process, to the very end usage.

I'm very interesting to know. Thanks.

Be good to know and add some more weight to your point of view. Are they still having to ship different components of the batteries from all over the world in pollution causing ships, acid to help with the mining, that's left in the soil and are they still using children with some of the mining? Would be some great points to clarify, thanks in advance for the upcoming information.
