The passenger side of them when they were built LHD had a sort of hump in the floor well, so when you convert them that's obviously going to be on the driver's side. Bit annoying but nothing major. Like any conversion it depends where it was done, we got ours done at a chevy specialist in ballarat (Australian Corvette Compliance) and had no problems.

I found mostly the cut'n'shut dash jobs sucked, the pedal box mods required did strange things (brake pedal too high, brake pedal on a funny angle etc) and the lump in the floor annoyed me. It was a shame that the three or four I drove were so bad, because I've seen some brilliant quality RHD conversions in other cars.

Still, I reckon if you got a good TPI manual car, added a set of gears, a cam and some heads, you'd be doing pretty damn well for under $20k

Those late 80's Camaros and Firebirds were gutless, they had a 5.0 litre V8 but they're were choked badly with emissions stuff. Still look cool. I used to be mad about Trans Ams, still one of the coolest cars ever made. '69 Ram Air IV Trans Am's allegedly were good for a 14 sec 1/4 off the showroom floor, not bad for a yank tank.

It's either a '91 or '92 RS Camaro.

I love third gen Camaros. I'd kill for an injected manual Z28. There's one around here, but it's been sitting with no engine in the open for a looooooong time.

Psycho Chook - your on the money ! RS for sure, and prolly '91.
I had a 89 IROC/Z-28 with a 5.o TPI (Tuned Port injection)
the 5L TPI motor is MUCH stronger than a injected 5L windsor or 5L holdon motor. The short 1st gear T700 auto also makes it much more fun than a auto windsor. Light em up anywhere, anytime ! The IROC/Z-28's also handle VERY well, but a bit harsh on our roads...

Mosman69, obviously you don't understand the meaning of that particular phrase, so I’ll draw you a diagram.

A few people here have suggested that this car is a Z 28. It is not a Z 28, it’s an RS (Rally Sport). This is a far lesser car than a Z 28 or an IROC Z. Therefore the phrase not a Z 28’s a**hole is appropriate under these circumstances.

It would be like some kid modifying a Torana and telling everyone that it’s an SLR or an A9X for example. So you see, under these circumstances this kid’s Torana is not an SLR’s a**hole.

So if you actually read what I’ve posted, you’ll find that I didn’t call anyone an a**hole. So in your own words, keep your unjustified attitude to yourself. Thanks very much.

The dead giveaway for me that it's an RS was the rather large 'RS' sticker visible in one of the photos in the side stripe.
