If the Falcon HAS to go they should at least just meet halfway and put our engines in this.

I don't want to be a wet blanket. But I was hoping for different looks between Falcon and Mustang. I don't really want it to become just a 4 door Mustang. I think that will detract from it's uniqueness. But if it stays Aussie, and RWD... then I can live with it.. or learn to.

That would require as much work as just going ahead with a new falcon...

Maybe the Falcon is being Mustangised and the Mustang itself will be imported to join FPV.

All that means is it will still be recognisably Mustang, and you still accept the retro look will go!

Well, if the FH Falcon just gets the nose treatment, then heck, we'll see it out to maybe 2016 - perhaps to 2018 with new plastic inserts in FH2 - but that would be about it. I like the front the FG2 to be honest - it's the rear I don't like.
But if we see a few key items - like the new Mustang IRS in the back of the FH, and the electronics suite from the Parks-itself-Focus (the BA inheritted many electronic modules from the Focus after all - and the Territory is already running a nexteer EPAS, so Falcon could easily get it), then we have a real chance of going beyond 2016/18 as a 4 door Mustang or Lincoln in other markets, or as RH Production Source of those and perhaps the 2-door for European/Asian markets. Then, if the Falcon gets Focus gear, the SA Territory would easily get them too - and we'd be looking at adding the swish-kick hands-free tailgate out of the Kuga. One can only then hope that there's A/C vents and airbags for the 3rd row seating by then.... Lukeyson

In case people aren't aware the "go further" slogan is Fords new global slogan.
But I think it may actually be referring to the 2014 Falcon 7-8% fuel economy improvement which will mean it will "go further" on one tank of petrol. Maybe? From what someone was telling me the headlights will be like the current Territorys, but that may have changed. |

The supposedly majical kill-off date of 2016 that crapmaker journos and haters keep spruiking is now no longer relevant. This invented pinch-date has moved; the simple fact is, we're looking at an update in the hundreds of millions which would nt have been budgeted for merely 2 years of sales in a shrinking segment, it would be complete and utter financial and business stupidity to do so. What you see, eventually, will surprise...

There is four maybe five RHD drive mustangs cruising up and down the hiway in the 39 to 40 degree heat at the moment. I'll do a snap if I can.
