Yeah, my XR's the same...not badly, only scrubbed it twice....you look like a bloody wally when it happens as well.....nothing worse than that crunching grinding sound of a front bar mating with a square gutter.

The best advice i can give is to ignore the majority of posts made in this thread so far, As for your issue i think the steel plate across the gutter( which is where i assume it scrapes) is the best bet, had a mate who had the same issue he just put down to bits of steel plate and no more scraping!

My zc can drive over a household bucket easily. don't even bother jacking it up to change the oil. thats progress for you.

Consider air bag suspension?
or use pieces of wood for a ramp? |

If you are working full time and making enough money, you could always ask them nicely if they will let you modify the driveway near the gutter to allow for a better entry incline.

Modify the driveway slightly? If all else fails, buy a landcruiser and you'll have no worries.

Yeah it is the cars fault! Do you think slopes, gutters and driveways were only invented in the last 10 years? You should have seen the roads connecting the regional town a couple of decades ago, ruts as deep as basketballs. And you didnt see Landcruisers and Patrols back then, it was trusty Falcons and Holdens. Nowadays an XR6 wouldnt last 2 mins on those type of roads. |

your best bet dude is to get a little "bridge" made up.
its like a modified ramp made with a curve in it, that starts just before the kerb drainage, and goes a metre or two in length. it has a tube thru it so that stormwater can still pass, and is angled to make the the gradient, well less severe. usually made out of steel and weigh about 7 billion tonnes lol, but thats of your only choices. |

Think we're done here, you have a few suggestions about what you can do, anything else is just spam.
