you deff do pay more for Alpine but its worth it.
before i became an Alpine fiend i rocked kenwood, and my kenwood deck even had some features over my Alpine that i kinda missed such as Front High Pass Filter and Rear High Pass Filter over the Alpines single HPF.

So with these decks (alpine, kenwood...etc) do any or some of the 3 buttons on your steering wheel work? I have read that you need a IR unit to plug in and the place into your interior light, much like a remote works to get the 3 buttons to work. Do any of the aerpro plug and play leads just allow the volume buttons and not the source/skip/speed set button to work. Only really the volume ones to work.

Nope. You need a CAT adapter to make the steering wheel controls work again.
