Sorry Steve i'm not interested in that form of racing to be honest. On a racetrack set it up for racing if you have the ability to do so.

Putting more power into the car then taking it to the track and using street tyres probably isnt the best way to try and see the full potential. It is interesting to see what it would do, but there would be a lot of runs where it would be trial and error to get a good launch without wheelspin, and sometimes you find each run you do that grip levels change.

As Craig said, if you're gunning for as fast as possible might as well get a setup with at least some racing tyres to get the power you do have to the ground. Nothing wrong with seeing what it would do in true street setup but sooner or later if you keep racing you will want to try to go faster using other means anyway

Awesome work guys, really happy for you Gaela. Great driving Craig, that 60 footer is just awesome. Obviously a tried and proven package which no one could argue does not work. That car is a credit to all those who've put in the hard work to get it to be as good as it is. Once again well done to all involved.

Great time - been thinking of doing the weight strip too - just the time factor! What would it have taken, 10 hrs to prep for the run?

Fleur wouldn't want me to give that out. You should see her sister. She looks like something out of Charlie's Angels! TALL, blonde and stunning - only 17 though. She was with the car last weekend and was the nicest girl.

The precedent of stripping weight and using full slicks was set years ago now.

So if you want to beat em, ya gotta join em, and being manual makes the time even more credible.

Thanks JP, Weld racing wheels with M/T Drag Slicks 28 x 8.5 x 15. If you want the same let me know and I can PM you the part numbers. You will have to run standard BA brakes and modify the rear bolt that holds the brake hose on.

Cheers Craig

When you run standard street trim with 19" low profile tyres the "give" in the side walls is very minimal and is very harsh on the driveline, by using slicks obviously the grip factor increases and the shock to the driveline is greatly reduced by the taller profile and the softer side walls.

Gotta get those slicks up to temperature Wade......I've tried small, medium and large burnouts and found that a big burnout with slicks is the way to go. :

Mate, slippery race track, had a couple of wild moments. We did 3 or 4 full runs and roughly the same aborted runs, just too sideways for my liking.

We tried a few things on the dyno during the week and they appear to be great which showed in the MPH twice 118.89 and 118.92 with 93 mph to the half. Terrible 60 footers of 1.76 only resulted in 12.06 and 12.08 et's. The car felt so much stronger it was great.

All in all we had some fun but as Dirty Harry says "a man's got to know his limitations".

We will give it another shot on friday at calder with some nice new slicks.

Cheers CC
