Unlike most in this thread, the button on my keypad works fine and will open the boot, but the button in the car next to the steering wheel doesnt work, doesnt even make the sound.
Is this likely to be a dead button/switch or is there something more to it?

pull the switch out an have a play with the contacts
change it to the fuel flap one and see if its the switch or not
