It'd be nice, but as said in previous posts...i'll believe it when i see it..the HRT427 (red monaro)was a goer until the bean counters got involved, some keen people even put down deposits, i heard, only to be given them back with a 'not financially feasable' line/excuse.
There was always talk of them bringing over a beefy corvette/callaway engine and putting it in a GTS, would be pricey for what is esentially a commy.
spose it'd still be cheaper than the european equivalent, horsepower wise??

While you are at it check any Holden/HSV result comparing the "evaluation demo" cars against later tests with production cars. The comparisons are quite interesting.
How true... I've always suspected Holden of tweaking the press demos. That to me is a deception to the buyer. They've been doing this for years and have lost my trust.

If only the HSVs didn't weigh close to 2000Kgs, that would be insane.

***Thinks of this engine in something like a VK or VL, weighing stuff all***. :Up_to_som

In regards to mag times vs drag times, don't forget that the mags use a correveit which will always give you slower times than beam light (drag) figures.

As for the evergreen F6 bs Clubbie arguement, from what I've seen, the Clubbie IS faster in a straight line, but the F6 beats it in in-gear acceleration.

To answer the another guy's question, no the 307kW 550Nm HSV's are not faster then the supposedly only-270kW and 550Nm @ 2000-4250rpm F6.

And I don't see why a 400kW 7.0 V8 seems so out-there. It would be the current GenIV LS7. Its not an ultra expensive engine, you can buy a new one yourself for $12,999 US as a crate motor. 7.0litres, 377kW 637Nm. What would be so difficult about taking an already 377kW engine to 400kW? A measly 23kW power-gain on a modern, new, conservatively tuned 7.0litres engine? It would be childsplay for them.

there is more to performance than just straight numbers. If you actually read pcoty they didnt like the handling or the feel of the GTS. Not to mention an overcooked engine after a couple of laps.

yes, it lapped quicker than the F6 around the track. 1/4 mile was same time from memory with the F6 having higher mph, and the F6 was quicker down the 0-1000m.

even an F6 with standard brakes stops quicker than a GTS from 100km -0km. There were afew suprised people on the "other forum" regarding this one.

Oh, and I can't forget the crappier auto compared to the almighty ZF :
