I'm watching the TV now, but it was a heat which he just won.

Final is on Wednesday.

this is interesting, plotting all the world records over the past 100 years or so. Interesting to see mens 100m, all USA and Canada basically until only recently When Jamaica took ownership.

Proof that even if white men can jump, they most certainly can't run

He just took the semi final 200m, and he took it real easy doing so.
I just wonder how he would go in the final on Wednesday if he actually tries?

Anybody know what his 60' time was?

Yeah, I think they'd make a better spectacle out of it if they have him start a couple of seconds later.

Wasn't Ian Thorpe killing people in a similar fashion in the pool a few years back? Did you proclaim him to be a drug cheat as well?
If it comes to light later that Bolt has done something wrong like you suggest then it would be fair to proclaim him a cheat. Until then perhaps you should give the guy a break.

EDIT: Do i get to edit things out of my posts that makes me look stupid too, or is that cheating?

Your not meant to be jealous of champions unless you compete against them and lose.
In awe or appreciative would be better descriptions. I'd like to see evidence of drug cheating before casting aspersions on this bloke.

theres been many occasions people have got away red handed. Who knows Ian Thorpe could of been a drug cheat. Been recent speculations to wether he was or not.

Good on the jamican if he is clean, truley a champion to the track and field. Ill try and remember him in 3 weeks.... Every sport is covered in drug cheats now adays and if as much as i want to call him a true champion. I personally think he is a drug cheat and i hope i am proven wrong.

The same could be said about any record holder, this thread is to acknowledge his achievements, not try and discredit him in public with no proof.

You can think it all you want, but it does not mean we need to hear it.

Agreed innocent until proven guilty I say. Even though perhaps his diest helps him run so so fast no brekkie and chicken nuggets for lunch and dinner. Maybe his awesome speed can be attributed to the growth hormons they use in chicken? Well done on the 100m win Mr Bolt and it would be great to see you top the great man's 200m WR of 19.32.

Opinions are like you know what...

Take a look at the guy! It's not a surprise that he's so much quicker when he's atleast 3 inches taller than everyone else and his legs are probably 10 inches longer LOL. The guys is built like buddy Franklin. BTW I think you'd be crazy to be a drug cheat these days. Can't get away with it near as easy as before.

what's different about this guy is his ability to accelerate like a much smaller guy. he's still not as quick off the mark as his peers but is not shamed at all and he quickly reels them in. its not traditionally a sport for tall people.

i reckon johnson's record is in real danger if he decided to run all the way and thats some achievement.

regarding the comments about him being forgotten 2 weeks down the track. not quite true. maybe if you are not a fan of athletics but anyone with a slight interest will remember it.

what i would like to see him do is to emulate the great carl lewis and add long jump to his arsenal. with his build and speed, surely he'd be able to get out near m.powells 8.95m.

-0.9 of a sec headwind! (Johnson had a wind behind him when he made the last record!!!!)

Fastest man alive.

great to see he actually tried this time. threw himself at the line, he wanted it. you could see it in his face.

What a champion. I wonder if in his next races he will try in his 100m sprints and smash his own record. Then do it all again in the next olympics?

spare a thought for poor old Wallace Spearmon. Wins the silver then gets disqualified!

Ecstacy turns to Anguish in the space of a second. didnt look like he was that much out of his lane IMO. my reception here at work aint the best though.

then again, he's a yank so my sympathy fades.

Well done Usain Bolt. truly a remarkable athlete
