The car is not an issue here. But It does look like someone is having a dig at us. If he is not having a dig at us then ..put it on anyhow in case he is an axe murderer or something scary like that!!!

Put it up on aufalcon.com Casper. I'm not a fan of the car either, but different strokes for different folks I guess, and the owner needs all the help he or she can get, and what better place than aufalcon.com. I too have wondered if it is a joke by someone, and have a few suggestions as to any future AU's being added.

A few conditions before your car will be added to the site.

1) You must submit a minimum of 4 photos of different angles.
2) You must be the current owner of the AU.
3) Your AU must be in a drivable and presentable (Roadworthy) state.
4) You promise to love the AU for ever and ever, amen.

Why? well for the first one, there's a few one shot wonders on the site already, and you don't get to see the full "picture" if you know what I mean. Atleast 4 pic's and you're in. For the second, to try stop someone sending in photos of someone elses AU or pic's downloaded from elsewhere. It happens, seen it on other forums/sites. Don't know how you'd prove it, but it would be nice if you were. The third, to try prevent someone sending in photos of their AU wreck or with different coloured doors, bonnets, ect.. and it's common now for any car club or car event to ask that your vehicle is in a presentable state anyway. The car in the first post is neat and presentable IMO, but we need a couple more photos. Forth, well.. it's not hard to now is it? I mean, if the owner of the above vehicle loves it as much as he/she does, then, well... 'nuff said.

Well, what do you think guys? Should we have a couple of conditions? Similar to the above four I have posted? Not too many conditions, just three or four is not much to ask I don't think.

I admit, at first, I looked at it and went "oh no" but, as I thought about it, I have come to the conclusion that the car is an AU, it is his pride and joy, and aufalcon.com is a site for ALL AU's.
Ok, so next time just PM me when you want an opinion - you know I will give you one! lol I've been sitting here wondering when my car would disappear from AUfalcon . com! I was actually going to edit my original post and withdraw my offer to be withdrawn from AU falcon . com, as I realised that it is for all AUs, so who am I to deny the masses a glimpse of the XR? rofl.

Are you going to keep the poll going? I think you should, just to see the reaction etc, but that the car should also make it to the pages of aufalcon.

Perhaps you should ask for at least 2 more pictures as per AUGZMK's suggestion - that way we know it's not a set up or joke (well, it is a little bit of a joke, but you know what I mean).

I agree. And personally, I don't think it should matter what wheels are on it. I think it looks ok. We all have different tastes.

I've always wondered how spinners would look on an AU - now I know lol.

I aggree. That gives Casper some options. The car could "look" a lot better if a 'better' pic had been supplied. Having not read the conditions re the photos I don't think Casper has to many options at the moment. Do check on the V6.

I'll probably make the changes to add some conditions...they seem like a good idea.
Unfortunatly those conditions were not there when this car was submitted so they do not apply, the only condition was it is an AU.

Personally, I have thought a lot about this and, regardless, I think we should add it. I just want everyone elses opinions. Not so much on this car now, but on future cars.

Does everyone agree with these 3 extra conditions for the future?
1) You must submit a minimum of 4 photos of different angles.
2) You must be the current or previous owner of the AU.
2) Your AU must be in a drivable and presentable state.

Im going to vote yes because the car meets the criteria presented on the site. So theres no stipulation that can be used to reject membership.

However.

If the rules were to be altered to be more specific on criteria required to join, I'd be happy to contribute as I'm sure would alot of others. While my car deserves no recognition as a well modified beast like many of the members cars, I still think it lessens the achievements some of us(not myself) have accomplished with our Au's, to allow this ricemobile into aufalcon.com

If there is no criteria, if there is no standard, and the only benefit is for people like this to get a discount to buy altezza brakelights, then we need to redefine what the point of the association is, even if stricter criteria results in my car being dropped from the list, just means I have to try harder to get back in.

The above says it all, dunno why it's even being discussed.
And to the cruel bastards here knocking it, imagine how this guy feels if he's reading this.
I wouldn't blame him if he told you to shove AU.com where it fits........

It may say it all, but I believe this thread is here to honestly discuss the issue, and address if those rules require changing(correct me if im wrong casper). If we want to improve aufalcon.com we have to be honest in our own opinions, or we are just wasting Shanes time and our own.

If nothing changes, nothing changes, but at the least we have had an honest say in the matter.

Thats exactly what this thread is about. I used the car as an example to see the outcome.
I think, now that aufalcon.com has grown a little, its time to look at the criteria again and see if it needs changing at all.
Remember, its our site, we still get to make the rules. I just want to see if they need amending or if people are happy with the "any AU" criteria? This was the perfect time.

I will say I am very pleased to see that the site is not an elitist site regarding cars and mods. It seems that the majority can see that, although not to their taste, all AU's have a place at the site.

Sure, but the rules can't be discussed midstream just because a car may or may not be to someones liking.

The rules can/should be discussed, yes, however the car should have been left out of it as the current rules don't stipulate any condition of car.

Rick.

The car is being used as an example, and a good one at that. It would be up to the members as a whole to decide what criteria might be introduced, and wethey they would be retroactive or not.

I realise that, though I would have tackled it differently, use a hypothetical car if an example is needed.
Not have some poor guys car get ratted on.
Whether anyone likes it or not, we all have to start somewhere.

Agreed. And the four photos minimum is the only condition the AU in question does not comply with.

Put his car in. Theres some cars on Au Falcon that may not be too everyones liking, but still, an AU is an AU. So stick it up on the site. Maybe we can gently persuade him to change a few things. But then again, its his pride and joy. either you hate, or love it, but in the end its his car

But Darky, if I was to send in four photos of the car below, and I was the owner, would it be acceptable to be in the members gallery? It's an AU after all.

This is where I think we need to have a condition that the car is at least drivable, and in a neat presentable condition. Not much to ask for really, I'm sure 100% of the AU's on the site comply with the third requirement anyway. It's just to prevent things getting out of hand, but then, I doubt Casper would put that car I've posted above on aufalcon.com, or even bother to ask us if it qualifies I don't think? It's an automatic no as far as I'm concerned. Darky, you see what I'm trying to say?

Come on, put it online. The submitter dished out for the hubcaps and made the effort to print out the form and email it to you. I always felt silly having written the small essay at aufalcon.com on my member page, but I do wish people spoke more about their cars than just a sentence.

I voted no. I think the AU's on there should be peoples pride and joy who have there car as there hobby.

I mean, honestly, at the moment, my AU is externally very stock, down to the 16" steelies and hub caps. Internally is alot different though (stereo, kinda pimped out).

When I get my kit/rims/lowered and the usual guns I'll put my request into aufalcon.com (with the transitional photo's aswell).

Thats just the way I see it

I agree with this! I think it reeally needs to be a bigger bio/comment than a single sentence.

How they got the car, condition, what they did, why they did it, there plans for it etc etc.
