Just one more point. When you buy this stuff, try and organise your shipping with a recognised shipper, such as DHL, FedEx and the like. They will do the customs entry for you, and send you an invoice for the Duty, GST and other Customs charges.
Sometimes you can engage a consolidator to organise your freight. Maybe the supplier can recommend one. For example, I import shock absorbers twice a month from the UK, and my consolidator (Transglobal) organises the freight about a quarter of the cost I can get from DHL or TNT here in Australia. If you go cheap and rely on the postal service, you will have to do your own customs documentation, and deal with Australia Post for payment of the GST etc. It’s a shambles. |

I've bought stuff from allover the world, and rarely had a problem.
For the most part, the only issues I've had are with the Chinese sellers who copy ads and descriptions without understanding English. So "genuine leather" turns out to be vinyl. In each case I have got a full refund from PayPal. My only concern with something like your motor, is warranty issues. Eg what happens if it ****s itself after 6 months. A few items have worldwide warranties provided by the manufacturer and you need only find their nearest service centre. Most items do not, and it is up to the distributer. In your case the Canadian warranty is probably useless. Ebay does provide "buyer protection" on some items. I'm not sure how that works, whether it applies to something like your motor, you'd have to look into that |

Crazy Dazz makes a valid point. If you buy this from an Australian provider, they are obliged to provide warrenty.
In my business, I am the Australian distributor for UK built shock absorbers. Some people import them from UK retailers, sometimes bypassing GST and Australian duty. Occasionally they try and return the items to me for warrenty repair. Sadly, its back to the UK for them. |

warranty doesn't appear to be offered. if it brakes i'll fix it. parts are available.
the engine has a very good reputation in competition and ,an Australian has used one to fly coast to coast in Australia. Polini also make bike motors for formal competition. i know its a bit of a gamble, i can ask questions to the seller and seek out Australian buyers, i,m not ready to buy just yet. i,m doing my homework. this model engine isn't available in Australia yet, however there is an agent offering a lower spec. engine, and it wouldn't hurt to check out if he could get it from his supplier. |

You might pay a higher cost due to bull**** exchange rates it's the quality that is a problem.
I've had excellent and shocking experiences. I buy all my car parts and various others on EBay but I now refuse International as if send the wrong item or rubbish it's almost impossible to get your money back. In Aust I can track them down. Don't believe the seller ratings, they are manipulated nonsense. |

Hi I use picclick to find what I'm after. Then you select to see in ebay. Then move to your watch list. Always save as many of the product to your watch list as you can find / interested in. The reason for this is the final price can make the cheapest the dearest and reverse.
Go to your au ebay and move all the items to your cart. In the cart select each item in turn. You will then see the price in AUD the frieght and the GST. Do this for each item then select the one that best suits. This may sound like a lot of work but only takes a few minutes. |

Not sure how it works
I ordered stuff from the states with eBay global shipping, the eBay cancelled the deal (I assume the shipping was more than their calculation) so we tried again with less weight (ordered the heavy stuff through a local supplier) but eBay wouldn’t let it happen so I just got the seller to do it with UPS, trouble was neither the seller or I could cancel the order so now I have a non pay black mark

This is not a joke (but should be) i ordered some sailboat winch parts from Texas US on the 2nd March 2021, the parts weigh less than 250g and the package is about the size of a DVD case, I haven't received them yet but the tracking is hilarious and worth a laugh

I've had this sort of thing happen a couple of time where the return address label used has been much larger than the address label used. I guess the postal or courier services just, and probably reasonably, assume the larger label is the address where it needs to go. It then yoyos back and forth for a while. Things have even arrived in Oz and then returned to the outgoing airport in North America.
