I got them for $50 Per rim. IE. The 16"s.

And as for what size it all depends. It is widely noted in the UK press that on the Fiesta, the car handles best with the 16" Rims on the Zetec, rather than the 17"s that come on the ST. (EVO Mag - 05)

If you're soleley after looks, Go the 17"s. Thats what I reckon. If you have the tyres though, Meh, go the 16"s! Especially if you have Conti's you don't wanna get 17"s and downgrade to Bob Jane Spec Nankangs!

Yea, I have also read the views on UKFN and other sites regarding 16" vs 17" rims on the Zetec and it would seem the overall conclusion is that the 16" rims handle way better, I'll see what the tyre guy comes up with if I hear from him today, he may be only able to get em in one size anyway.

No secret at all Rob,

I got them from Bob Jane T mart. They had about 30 of the 16" Strada's in Fiesta/Focus/Escort offset and stud pattern out the back that had been used only for one day for a tyre test.

He said pick four of the best, and theyr're $50 each. So I did just that. Thanks yer very much! They were practically brand new!

Agreed, not for me either, just a tad too big imho......although in saying that there does seem to be a lot of UK owners with 18" rims on their Fez's, but then they also "dump" the suspension a lot using coilovers.

Can you get tyres in a low enough profile for 18" rims? Otherwise you'll just be gearing the engine higher and killing your (already only adequate) acceleration.

What sort of price are those ones?

Personally (ie. it's only my opinion!

) I find spoke design wheels like that which don't have the spoke running all the way to the rim edge look to be a lot smaller than they actually are. So your 17" rim probably won't look as big?

Well, IMO tyres are a massive safety/performance issue not to be taken lightly. Trust me... nothing beats quality tyres. Once you get something expensive and experience the quality in the tyres compared to other brands, you will really wish you had got them sooner!

I had no difficulties keeping with an AWD S3 in the wet the other day...

Teki is 100% correct. Your tyres are your only contact patch with the ground and getting a good tyre not only improves your cars performance it is a critical safety factor. The tyres I have now are fantastic in the dry in the wet they don't offer great grip off a start.

But the nankangs are decent tyres for the money. They arn't the best but they have decent dry grip for the price u pay.

Depends, the 17's will look better, and probably last longer being a harder compound, but the 15's will be more comfortable and probably grip better in the wet.

Theres definitly better tyres around than Nankangs, but theres also better tyres around than the GSD3's as well. IMHO

Well in general, i know they stand no match for other tyres that everyone else has, but found them to be awesome in the dry very grippy, but in the wet i do take it a bit easy. The reason i got the nankangs was because they were cheap and i just wanted to get the 17's on the car thats about it. I wasnt too fussed about performance, but i must say they handled perfectly down the old pac in the wet (1 week b4 cruise) and even on the cruise.

When im in need of new tyres i definitly wont be going for the Kangs, I just wanna try something different and obviously spend a bit more.
