The poster stated he's seen more GTR's than Ferraris, Lambos etc.

Of course you are more likely to see 150k cars Vs cars that are worth in excess of 500k.

Just like it will be more likely in a few years time to see more 86's worth 30k than Boxsters worth 120k+.

What did I say in any way that compared the 2 in any other terms other than the number seen on the road.

As an ex Toyota Tech i am glad to hear that they are bringing back a performance brand, but i also how that as was stated in the article that will not just be a TUNING EXERCISE.
The turdlux as we nicknamed it and the auriturd were just that slapped on supercharged factory V6 production line cars with bilstein suspension and not much else other than asthetics. they were fun to drive but other than that not much else could be said for their daily comfort.

fun note how many of you knew that the all or part of TRD Aurion was produced in the same factory as FPV?

Prodrive did the assembly, nothing more, but it was in a seperate factory.

Seems my comment was taken out of context, i was refering to the comment that badge snobbery would see this venture fail. and using the fact I see more GTR's than Ferrari's etc as evidence it could be viable. I wasn't in anyway implying the GTR was better, just viable. As such I see no reason why the TMG wouldn't also be viable if the car was able to stand up to scrutiny.

The fact that Ferrari, Lambo's and the other so called marquee makes are not viable vehicle makes in thier own right and wouldn't succeed without the intervention of companies that have bought them over the years such as VW etc is an arguement for another day.

I thought the LFA wasn't too bad, but I agree with you in regards to it being overpriced. It was a good 100k+ more expensive than Lambos and Ferrari's that were quicker than it.

But they sold every single one they made, total sellout, and lost money on the project too, chicken-feed for BigT

Keeps the engineers/marketing guys busy @ Toyota Inc.

Didnt anyone notice what Toyota could do with Nascar? They can do anything they put their mind to.

They didnt sell out of the LFA in the usa. There are dealers getting in trouble for trying to discount them to move them out of their showrooms.

Badge snobbery will come into play, if you're in the market for an AMG and can afford one then why buy something with a Toyota badge on it? AMGs are power, refinement, class, wealth, Toyota is just a collection of boxes with wheels on them.

NASCAR's have nothing to do with road cars, they are just a ground up racecar with some dodgy spray painted grille and lights on them.

So in reality Toyota did nothing, the race teams did.
