Hello,
Their first album which I mentioned in an earlier post has a very gloomy - doomy cover in dark colours of a churchyard cum cemetery with a long haired sheila dressed in pink sort of floating toward you as you looked at the cover! Cheers Billy. Last edited by slowsnake; 16-07-2018 at 10:41 AM. Reason: misspelled word |

My first L.P was Kiss Dynasty, still have it, and "Sure Know Something" is still on of my favourite songs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBb5JBa-RFg The first 45 single I ever bought was E.L.O "Don't Bring Me Down". I still remember buying it with my pocket money, I was around 9 years of age from a record store in Bundaberg. Those days the Top 40 were all up on a wall behind the counter in their own little boxes and you'd just ask the lady for the number you wanted from that weeks Top 40 Charts. Miss those days, life seemed far less complicated than today unfortunately. |

Wow you mentioned two of my favourite guitarist singer legends, though not my first bought LP's but all of Ted Nugent's work/music was as hard as the cars that poured out of Detroit in the 70's, remember " Motor City Madhouse " and can't believe you mentioned Robin Trower!..cool.. His album " Long Misty Days " blew me away, especially his song " Caledonia "...miss them days driving around with the old cassette player and amp blazing out the back of my van, never seen him live but wanted too badly when he was on guitar with Procol Harem, cool, cool memories, but i saw a video of him live doing " Too Rolling Stoned " thanks for the post! Kind Regards Billy. |

My first vinyls came from 2nd-hand stalls.
Albums like Can the Can, Fireball, and the live album Made in Japan were all bought for a few bucks and I still have them. First album I had to save up for and bought new was The Song Remains the Same. It was $13.99 and a double album.....I remember my dad saying "but there's only 9 songs on it!" |

Good album, I gave a complete set of Led Zep and AC/DC to a mates daughter a few years back, her 18th birthday, she's a real rock head/headbanger. But that's so funny what ya dad said " but its only got 9 songs on it "...had a little chuckle to myself!..lol.. But I saw them live in Sydney, what a top band too, they were classed as the loudest band to play live in Sydney, lots of noise complaints next day. I really love their album " Houses of the Holy " Cheers Billy..thanks for posting! Last edited by slowsnake; 16-07-2018 at 04:37 PM. Reason: misspelled word |

My first as a kid, but originally recorded the whole LP off the radio from Casey Kasem country music hour on a reel to reel.
Still got it.

1979 was the year it was released. I had a friend how taped it on to a cassette for me. Sure Know Something was my favourite song on there too like someone earlier in the thread, but the kid down the road pushed the play/rec buttons on my player and deleted a small section of that song....man I was an unhappy kid that weekend. |
