Just posted this up on Fordmods, thought i may aswell do the same here....

Gli/XR bonnets...

These will be the standard GLI/XR bonnets but with a buldge.

Fairmont bonnet....

These will be the GLI/XR bonnet cut down and modified to suit the lights and grill.

Cost: $750 including gas struts, making a 50% deposit payment of $375, then a final payment before dispatch of your bonnet (freight at extra cost, capped at $150 anywhere in Aus, if it is less then you wil pay less).

Details:

1. The bonnet will be fibreglass.
2. the grill will be free if ordered before bonnets are made (for fairmonts etc..)
3. The buldge will raise as does the BA bonnets.
4. There shall be no holes for the washer nozzles, but they can be easily relocted.
5. Grill will be styled like this, Fairmont grille surround, gt style mesh behind with badge in middle.
6. XR vents will also be done free of charge for orders put in before the bonnets are made.

Ok, that is all i can think of at the moment. If anyone has any concerns or questions please feel free to ask away. I will answer the best i can, and if not i can ask adam.

Cheers

BEN

Does this mean the high series bonnet would be same as gli/xr shape, as in it wouldn't have a raised middle section as fairmont/ghia bonnets usually do?

And is the grille going to be shaped on a EF or EL fairmont?

Cheers,
Bud

thats right, it will not have a raised section running right through the middle, it will however have two swage lines running back from the grille section but probably only 2/300mm or so

the grille will be a standard looking outer ring that is on the fairmonts, with a black powdercoated gt style mesh fitted behind with the badge in the middle.

hope this makes sense

Cheers Adam, any plans for making a proper fairmont bonnet with the raised middle section in future?

The grill sounds like what I did with mine

hi guys,
i went down to Kurnell Kustoms this morning so adam could fit his "prototype" (for lack of a better word) onto my car (EL xr6). and honestly, the effort he has put into the bonnet is obvious on first site, it looks trully amazing.

I figured that of course it would look good, but i didn't think it would look THIS good.

after fitting it, i sat in the drivers seat and just sighed and said, "i gotta have one"

anyway, enough of my crap, i took some photos just to give you guys an idea of how nice it sits and just how well it suits.

fairmont version will be doubtful for AFD
XR version will be

moulding will start this weekend, once complete will then do fairmont front section then mould that

would love to mate so see how we go but would not like to say yes and then not be able to do it - more so rush it

may get the fairmont plug finished and put it on a car for AFD for exposure?

re bulge stickers have supplier all tee'd up and wont be a problem

To the stickers, will they be the same size as the BA stickers?

the stickers at the moment are exact copies of the genuine ba ones. We will just have to try these on the EF bonnets and see how they go, if they dont suit due to the slightly different shape of the bonnet we will get some modified to suit the curve exactly.

should be right though, the BA stickers fit the AU boss bonnet fine, just the EF bonnet is quite a bit more curved to the front

Sounds good .
Do you think there will be a extra maybe 2 inch with your bonnet ?
My air cleaner sits right over the rocker cover and sits out about 1 1/2 inch.

So you know what I need .

the update is i am working each night in to darkness to try and get the moulds completed for All Ford Day

plan to start moulding the underneath of the bonnet next weekend once the top is complete.

the amount of people willing to put their money where their mouth is has been underwhelming to say the least...
