It is essentially the current shape Camaro with a tweaked front and rear ends.
Can't see how they changed over the under pinnings of this car, just by observing some of the provided pictures it appears that it carries over the same overall width and length from the current Camaro. |

Maybe that outward appearance is simply due to there being similarities in the dimensions of the Zeta and Alpha Platforms. It's the changes under the skin that is important. Quote:

They look good, but Mustang is an all around better and faster car, and has been as long as the current Challenger has existed.

God that looks terrible, inside and out. Interestingly an article I read about it said it wouldn't be built in RHD, as they had asked a GM engineer who said "we have no plans to build a RHD version".
So it may not even come here. |

So the mustang can be evolutionary but the Camaro cant? yes ok.. Mustangs for years had cheap interiors and live axles. Looks good, hope it sells. Probably wont come to Aus... but we can hope. |

Direction injection 6.2L LT1 with 339kw and 617Nm sounds good to me. Wonder if this is the same engine that the MY16 VF will get?
Overall I think the new Camaro looks great and hope to see it on Australian roads.

Having seen some more release photos it's even worse than I thought, just downright ugly.
I'm sure it will go well in Z28/ZL1 form, but jesus that interior is still awful and now the outside matches it. |

The thing I don't like is the price difference that would occur between here and there. You can bet it would turn a $30,000 car into a $90,000 car. Maybe if drivers here were treated like adults and allowed to drive brand new LHD cars it would be better... |

I have learned to wait until I see a car or bike in the metal before deciding on its looks.
But so far, it looks like 1969 all over again... with GM taking a classic shape and ruining it.

Its not a bad looking car, I wouldn’t say ugly as some have, but for me the Stang is better looking, be good to see them go head to head though.

The chassis of the Camaro (current one) isn't a bad thing, seems to handle pretty well, be interesting to see how this Alpha based platform one is.

Wonder what the GM fanboys will make of the looks cause this new model needs to turn around sliding sales big time.
Camaro is down 15%, while Mustang (+60%) and Challenger (+40%) are well up. |

The 69 ruined the classic 67-68 body with its overdone guard treatment that just ruined the balance of the styling. Still a good looking car, just not when you put it next to the earlier ones.
