Yeah, I know, far from an ideal set up! He has towed the XB like that from Melbourne (750km) and twice to Adelaide (500km round trip).
You wanna know something REAL scary........ the brakes on the trailer are almost non existant!!

Wouldn't it have beena good idea to back the car up a bit on the trailor so as to evenly spread the load of the car over the axle???

Just an observation.

When i picked my xr8 up from blupower i towed it home with my old mans landcruiser, i got 15 min's down the road and unstrapped it and rolled it back 10'and it made a huge difference. Other than my car ivé only ever towed a boat once for 15 min and i could feel it wasn't sitting right, it looked no where near as bad as that tho.

I had 2 straps over each wheel and one over the cross member pulling the car down so it wouldn't bounce, still moved 2' to the right. I done them up that tight i had to cut them off when i got home. Although i did sit on 13o all the way home.

nope, too much weight at the back (engine etc) and the setup would sway like crazy...
would have been far better if the car was back about a foot or maybe even a little more, if thats possible with that trailer(some trailers are too short to achieve a nice balance)

What about if you reverse it onto the tailer?

again, that would have the weight of the engine over the rear of the trailer.....which isnt a good thing as it lifts the rear of the towing vehicle....which induces sway.

the idea is to get as good a balance as you can, but if you MUST have the weight more towards 1 end, you try and have it towards the drawbar end

ive towed heaps and never have an issue with the car sagging down like the eb pictured....

In China they make an extension lead from lengths of wire with bare ends stuffed into a power point.

Any further back and it starts swaying like crazy. The XR8 is low and the trailer is very heavy on the draw bar.
