I'm intrigued now on one of the classic XR colours being GT Gold . There was one here for a fair while well into the 1970's I think .

Sprintey ...This was my BA Fairmont Ghia ..Mint Silver or Ice Mint Silver..I always called it the former but you could be right .

ba fairmont 2 by Rodney McGiveron, on Flickr and

fairmont interior by Rodney McGiveron, on Flickr..

Sometimes I wish I had of persevered with her ..

It's a beautiful thing isn't it?

The bus is a work in progress, been living in it for 8 years.
Bought it as a motorhome with a nice fit out, but a lot of work needed bodywise and elsewhere.
We have done quite a few mods to it as well.
If your interested the story is here https://www.facebook.com/dstinationunknown/

Fair warning, it's quite long and will take a bit of scrolling to get to the beginning.

Cheers,

Some great colours out there and already mentioned.
B-series and early Territory models had a great range of colours for modern vehicles.

Another mention is Velvet in the FG range. That was classy and not often seen.

This is one of the rarer colours during the BF MK II run. Bonus points if you can name it.

That really is an odd one ..Can honestly say I've never seen one that colour . looks like some shade of orange to me but wouldn't know where to start for it's official name that's for sure .

Without literally counting every line . It worked out to be 23 sets of colour names and codes per 157mm...There were 60 sets of 23 give or take a slight overlap and a couple left over , and no doubt some that got missed there are approximately 1380 Ford colours not counting the GT colours .

Told you all I was bored . or stupid or both...

I also might have thought my Telstar was called Emperor but now I'm not sure ., something is telling me that this old girl was actually Regency Red .

WELL DONE INDEED...Gee you've had a real go on the beautiful bus ..She's going to be a cracker by the time you're finished . Had a good old scroll via your Facebook and can see she's in great hands .

There's a bloke here a bit like you . His bus is a Clipper and he bought mostly restored but has added a lot more to that and he's taken her , and his missus , to various places on mainland Australia already . She's a bit of a celebrity at our annual Car , Bus and Bike Show every June ..Except this year of course unfortunately due to an insidious little virus..

..Here's a clip of last years show done by a local car filmer . You'll see a snippet of Russel's 1950 I think former Ansett Clipper at about six and a half minutes as the presenter is talking to a XY GT owner is also a nice jigger..There were only two buses there last year but sometimes there's a nice few . Russel's is the blue one ..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKhhxnMSV_A&t=14s .. Here's a bit more about him in the local newspaper from a while back . Geez he loves his Clipper...https://www.examiner.com.au/story/24...ch-wheel-nuts/ ...thanks again for the Facebook link to your lovely bus .

This colour is called Wired. I remember reading a post on here many years ago about how the production line workers did in fact call it baby shyte brown.

Thanx Roddy, enjoying the journey with the bus, I am extremely fortunate to have a wife that loves working with me on it.

Love the old Clipper's, parked up next to one in a caravan park in Victoria one night, beautiful green one, had a chat with them. Love the old jimmy V6's singing away too.

Thanx for the links and info.

Cheers,

Oh My God...the second image (GT-P)....I'm in love . That's incredible . Would love to see one in real life . Official colour names of either , don't really know . But the GT...She could live in my shed anytime...

Another question without notice guys .

Has the colour of a car ever made you think twice about buying it or being a deciding factor why you bought it . ?

Yep, I would never buy a black car, won't even consider looking at one.
The only time they look good is when totally clean and polished, and coming from QLD, their too damn hot.
Just my opinion mind you.
