I was referring to the one done by Motor, not the other one, which is funny.

The bonnet does conjure images of a C-Class Merc but as a whole it reminds me of a Cruz, that front end makes it look tiny. But of course its a Motor Chop so is ultimately meaningless, they have no sources or any genuine idea of what it'll look like. I've never actually understood the point of Motor and Wheels doing these chops, does anyone else understand the point of it?

They chop cars that they have no idea about, 99% of which are never even built and the other 1% looks nothing like their chop.

if my memory serves me well (which i doubt) when the FG was being developed MOTOR (or i think it was WHEELS) did one of these prediction type things and it wasnt too far off from the actual car! so who knows, they could be on to something...

Oh and that new holden i dont like it at all. When the falcon gets axed the next car im stepping into will be european...

Here is the inspiration...so its quite legitiment. Moveing to the Malibu style front end is a very plausable option, given the stories of both Commodore replacements, or US built RWD global car.

Motor/Wheels don't have any idea how to predict what future models look like. (Just look back to see how wrong they have been in the past). The only reason they put "exclusive" pictures of new models (that the mag has created) is because it shifts magazines: the punter buy the mag thinking that the picture has to do with Holden/Ford when they rarely ever do...

Rather than worrying about the looks of VF, I'm more interested in the fuel
economy objectives and if Holden
can achieve their goal of 7% improvement, the Omega will get 8.2 l/100 km
and the 3.6 SV6 around 8.5 l/100 km.

Now that will be impressive....

That (if it is true) is way better then the VE front...

Get's rid of the big eard look that it had...the grill might be off though, as i thought it might have the corperate chev grill...

Motor's VF commodore prediction

It WILL be Australia's most economical large sedan, good for brag-rights i suppose, mind you DON'T buy this over the over choices for that, because the others will most likely use just a few points of fuel or more, best you find the best overall [Camry Hybrid?] vehicle that suits your needs

Every Holden that gets released (excluding the E Series 1 HSV), I hate at first but then it eventually grows on me, the current VE2 has grown on me a lot especially when compared to the VE1.

I have no doubt the VF will be the same for me, either way it does need an update especially the rear end which has stayed the same since 2006.

I think it will have more of a Impala grille rather than Malibu. I think Chev may be moving away from that ugly split grille.

Well if they both had the same impressions why would you bother buying both mags. Do the mags share the same offices in Sydney?

Motor is just becoming a Top Gear wannabe magazine anyway. I haven't bought some of the issues recently - those issues had not a single article or report on anything Australian made.

Not a very flattering interior, if that is the finished product. Why they persist with the window controls in the centre but is still very VE.

the 210kw v6 i have absolutely hammers. its not that quick off the line but after 4,000 rpm onwards it would leave the v6 195kw falcon for dead

Posted by cameron at 6:07pm, March 6, 2012 in Engines

^^^^^^ a real gem of typical general public ignorance V6 in a falcon lol.

doubt the mongs even driven one.

the lazy torque from the FG i drove the other day (and was going to buy, just a poverty pack 2010 XT with zf6spd) was quite excellent.

in the end tho i fell for a 2010 SIDI SV6 commodore because i rather liked the revvy more "thrashable" nature of the SIDI 6. the blip on downshift 6spd auto is alot of fun too.

there falcon is the better lazy driving auto tho. the XT for a base model was excellent in fit and finish, the whole car was streaks ahead of the BF MKii Ghia i had in the past.

Ice

Looks like a midsize front grafted to the commodore shell. Completely awful. Those Malibu lights do nothing for the shape either. Also the rigid lines of the commobody doesn't match the front.

Glad it won't look like that.
