I roll this way. It is correct for a bachelor without females residing - although I do drop the seat when females are in attendance. OCD applies!

I hate it when it's like 2am in the middle of winter and you sit down but can't get up without a blow torch to defrost your frozen cheeks off the seat.

Those that have voted towards the wall, you are sick people, how can you sleep at night,
You do realise its behavior such as this that has led to the crumbling of society over the past hundred years, it starts with the toilet paper, then fast becomes drugs like marijuana, before you know it your selling your mum's ring to buy smack, think before you reinstall the spool, where do you see your life heading?

I grew up in parents place thinking against the wall was the way.
I left the nest and became an Away guy, but yes, really just grateful there's always paper close by. We don't even have a holder in the ensuite anymore, the rolls just sit on the shelf close by. I feel like I'm on the verge of posting too much information. |

35 years of blissful union has shown me that she who would be the possessor of all things shiny is seldom, if ever, wrong, and if ever she were to be wrong it would merely be an oversight on my behalf. now that Mr Attenborough has been removed from saturday nights (curse their livers) I may look into the smurfs, but I reckon theres another wildlife one on Saturday night though isn't there?, haven't looked at the idiot box in a while.

poppa smurf, your wife has done a great job traini (oopsies).....I mean, teaching you!
The only way is up and over the top! And I'm with 89+% of users here. A lady friend with a young kid told me if you squish the new roll to flatten before putting the roll on the rolling dispenser, it stops the roll from unrolling if a kid pulls on it for fun. I guess hers does. |

Poppa Smurf - there is another alternative. The Vincenzo family household has a family heirloom handed down from generation to generation (picture toilet roll sitting on top of upturned 10 litre plastic bucket). The said household has both Left, Right and ambidextrous occupiers. No decision could be made as to which wall to attach holder to so it sits on a bucket. Sometimes it is to the left of bowl on entry and sometimes to the right, depending on who was in there.
Cheers Vincenzo

I know mine and I am quite happy here....... call it training if you like, I call it "self preservation" I recall the days of the newspapers cut into little squares stuck on the nail in the remote outhouse, thankfully we have moved on and we now poop inside. I recall my father, after I had just finished installing an inside loo, we had a BBQ to celebrate, he was not a great one on barbies. he simply said "never thought I'd see the day" me "what's that Dad"......... pop's answer..... "pooping inside and eating outside, and they call this civilised advancement" grew up shovelling coal into steam train hoppers at the peterborough railway changeover yard for a penny a ton, hard times, but if he didn't want to do it there were 50 blokes looking in through the fence eager to take his place.

in order to see the print pattern, or read paper, it must roll over the top.

ìts all about weight transfer and efficencies.
take any roll of product ( i work with large drums of cables) and test the force needed to turn the roll . it will be much easier to turn if you are extracting the product from the top of the roll towards you as per the above photos. how often do you see winch ropes coming off the bottom of the winch drum ? almost never of not never at all. there may be some special exceptions but would be very rare. if we load up a drum of electrical cable so that it pulls from the bottom of the drum (paper towards wall and wraping around the roll ) it is very hard to get the roll moving and keep it rotating. if cable pulls from top of roll it is fairly easy to start moving and once it is moving it takes very little effort to keep it going. this is because your pulling away from the roll not trying to lift the roll as you pull. hence if paper is towards the wall it will need more force to extract the required amount from the roll and will usually result in premature tearing of said paper so you will end up with several small sections of paper to make up required amount and so increasing the chance of gaps in the paper resulting in s.....ty finger syndrome . i always have the paper coming off the top of roll outwards. i hope that this short physics lesson has helped to save a few marrages and brings peace to the world.

we tend to use larger size or as you would call "normal size"......we find we can sit on them and wriggle, pleasurable and cleansing at the same time.

I missed the voting, but in our household it's definitely AWAY from the wall.
Also my Wife has never complained about the seat being left up, good considering she is the only female in the house!! Maybe she's working on the majority rules theory... |
