Best solution is get your mate to drive you to the beach so you don't have to worry about a thing. hahaha
Or get yourself a heap of sh*t so if it get knock off then it was a crap car.

If i took the xb to the beach i wouldn't have to worry about locking it.. it has a self destruct button near salt water. Counting i'm paranoid about large expanses of water and also me in a bikini

I'm lucky, I live right next to the beach. I just leave the car at home and walk through the back gate.

I usually chuck my phone and wallet in the car glove box and lock it up and the keys go in my bag along with my towel next to it. Maybe someone should make a waterproof cover for the remotes so people can chuck them in thier closeable pockets while swimming.

Only beach i frequent in summer, you're allowed to take the car onto and park... right there on the sand.
Always a bit of an audience at the end of the day watching everyone churn through the metre of loose sand. Good fun tho ;) Leave the keys in the ignition, 891 going with the cricket, doors open whilst you're off for a swim.

We don't have a beach in Canberra and don't go to the pool. I have a large spa, so i just fill it full of water and swim in circles.

I usually slip the ignition key off the keyring and lock it (with the remote) in the glovebox. By the time they've found it, they don't really need the remote anyway!
The worst thing about remote keys is when you can press the button you are automatically trying to unlock every car up to 20m away - how easy is that? The ignition key then gets buried somewhere amongst my stuff. I worry a little about even the ignition key, as it has the Mitsubishi logo proudly displayed on it. Tibbe keys would be even worse - get one without a Ford logo and the thief would still know which cars to try... Usually also carry a minimum of cash (ice-cream money). The Viva is even easier. Very few people would pick its ignition key from a cheap padlock key! :1syellow1 Of course my keys do not have a home address or rego number, either. That makes it far too easy : And I think we've found a good reason to not go with integrated remote keys - the worst scenario at the beach! : I hope salt water does not affect transponders, but I'm not willing to test it! :gren:

I'll try and hire a locker (as you don't always have just your kets), or most of the time someone will always be watching our stuff. Annoying as not everyone can join in and have fun. But not much else you can do.
I'll always keep my car clean & hide my posessions and lock them up + clublock + sunshade, so no one can see in. I normally park away from everyone, and in the open. But still close by.

I've seen a ladie put her car keys on top of her wheel, and went in shopping.... me and her made eye contact....and she got up and walked in.... lucky I wasn't a thief....!
If I went to the beach i'd bring a plastic bag (Sealed) with my keys in it, and shorts with atleast 1 zip pocket. |

I will not take my pride and joy to a shopping mall or any place where it requires large public parking. When i take it to work (once or twice a week ) it goes around the back of the workshop and i have full view of it all day and there is no public acces unles your a customer with one of our staff. The family car is a 98 EL that just clicked over 80,00, shes perfect to take to the beach. Both cars are fully insured..but the pride and joy is alot safer at home in the garrrage.
