Car has travelled down to Newcastle on Anzac day to be put on a rotisary and bead blasted underneath and up top. It is being done at Imperial Blasting at Heatherbrae. He says it should be finnished at the end of next week. Clint at Spray paint Perfection is going to put a new coat of paint on the girl and have her gun barrel straight. Some good pics should come out soon as the XB and Neils XY will be at the same shop at the same time and at the moment both cars should be both at bare metal stage, so we will be taking pics of the 2 cars together.

Got the car back from Newcastle today. He has done a fantastic job! She travels to the panel beaters next weekend. Found a Mad Max replica there also.

I cannot give the guys there enough praise ! Dedicated Ford fans to say the least, and loves his XB coupes, as he has 3 of them.

Well she is now in the hands of the panel shop guys, cannot wait to see her done. And she is parked next to some class also, Neils XY is being done at the same shop. Hopefully they will come out at around the same time.

The only news is that she is collecting dust at the paint shop. I have bought the RH side floor pan, both sides rear quarter dog legs, and sills from Fomoco. The paint shop have these items also. I have bought another rolling shell from Gimpi Queensland, as i couldnt source a good body from around here. I had to find another plenum as mine was to far gone, and i also had to find a LH rear quarter panel, nobody makes the plenums anymore and a new rear quarter will cost me $2,000, so a good rolling shell for $800 saves me a lot of money.

YES it is Giles : she will be Mulberry and Silver when she comes out of the paint shop. Its an original GT scheme, and you dont see many around. And most importantly, i love the colour.

OH....so sorry that i did not go white....hhhhmmmmm BORING : I had a good chat to Gary Myers at the Muscle car masters about the colour scheme of his car. His XA GT in Wild Violet and Silver looks so great. Are you going to tell one of the biggest Ford guys around, and not to mention.....the burn out king that he has a pink car ???

Gordy... looks awesome mate, you stuff this up but and the misses will cut you a new set lol I think after all this time and money.... have a long think about the colour and do what your inner child would have wanted i say lol The mulberry looks hot as! And its not like your restoring it to fairmont so really you dont need the original onyx.... Anyways cant wait see what it turns out like- And nothing worth having is easy my friend.. Kudos on the commitment!

i have just revisted this thread and you say the plenum is past it it does not look half as bad as some of the coupes in the project threads.

it looks repairable to me buts thats only by the pictures.

Quite correct Giles. Ive been going through the project threads of the xb coupes, and this one is quite tame compared to them. But all i can say at the moment is that all work on this shell has stopped. More info on this build will be posted in a week or two.
