Been with Internode since I first went to ADSL from dial-up. Never had a complaint with them.
They've updated my service a number of times since I joined. I think I started on 2GB a month, then 5, 10, 20, 50, to the 200GB I get now, for the same price - without me ever having made an enquiry. The only time I've had problems with my connection have been due to the pit being flooded, or someone (my father) having removed the line filter from the fax machine when fiddling with things he has no idea about, and being too impatient these days to think things through.

I am with Westnet who was a stand out provider but went downhill after takeovers by iinet and TPG, from a support point of view. Internet can be patchy but that is down to Telstra's line ownership.
TPG Subsidiaries are - Adam Internet AAPT Limited Agile Communications Chime Communications iiNet Internode Netspace PIPE Networks TransACT Westnet

Is there any truth to the rumour that Optus wanted to roll out their own system, it was going to be optic fibre, but John Howard (the then Prime Minister) stopped them and made them use the GovCo (read Telstra) copper wire system, then privatised said GovCo telco
