Once completed and off to the derby, any chance of some video of the action?

Ladies and gentleman, here it is! (Loud applause) The King of Sting, the Hunk of Spunk, the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla!!!!! (Even louder applause) Presenting this year's piece of resistance, the one (girls fainting), the only (undies being thrown onto the stage) demolition derby prepared AU Falcon!!!! (Crescendo of hysteria, a deafening roar of frenzied screaming, foot stomping and tribal chants: AU, AU, AU...)

That looks like an A/C condenser in the front of the AU !
Or is it just disguised radiator protection ?

Mr GasOlane, are you suggesting that I would stoop to underhanded skulduggery in order to advantage my cause??? I am wounded!!!
I'd better check the rules about that... |

Far be it from me to suggest that you are involved in chicanery.
If the driver needs an AC due to a health complaint fair enough. Although I'd put a second one there in case the cabin temp rise, and possibly a turbo intercooler there as well. (I'm originally from England where underhanded skulduggery is a cottage industry)

We go for victory tonight!!! I have informed my drivers that though they may be badly injured, burnt to a crisp or worse, that is a price I'm willing to pay for my victory trophy...

No.
A certain HT or G Kingswood was victorious. The Camry gave a better than expected account of itself even after losing a rear wheel early on and the AU did some damage as well... In 2016, I am planning to send an armada of cars. I will post up next year's build thread once I have sorted out what we are going to run... |

Looks like the Camry didn't put up much of a fight, whereas the Falcon looks remarkably intact.

The Camry was almost unstoppable. It just kept going until it could take no more. The AU was dead long before the Camry...

What stopped the Falcon in the end? Looks like loss of coolant from an early hit. Unfortunate..

When I get both cars back to school tomorrow morning, I'll be able to determine the cause of failure...

I'll say it - they should both buff out.

After a thoroughly comprehensive cursory glance over the carcasses, my post mortem diagnosis is as follows:
The AU was stopped by damage to the fuse/relay/circuit breaker/fusible link area as evidenced by the front right hand damage. The Camry stopped because it's a boringly stupid car. Thank you all for your input into this thread. The 2016 thread will be up and running Feb/March next year. |

Thanks for the update - what are the rules re vehicle reinforcing? Are you allowed to strengthen the front (to negate the AU problem happening again) and the rear (to provide a better weapon for reverse ramming?)

You are not allowed to reinforce the cars at all and no full chassis cars are allowed. There must be a cage around you made from at least 75x50x3mm RHS and 40mm black steel pipe...
