It wasnt your fault the car had dramas, and it isnt your fault if you decided to offload it because it was causing grief, who could blame you. You wouldn't be expected to spend $1000's on it just to make it better for the next owner if it was a trade-in. Technically speaking however, the dealer was the next owner!
It is the dealership's responsibility to comprehensively check the car out when they recieve a trade in and plan on selling it, they should be fixing any problems so that a)the car is right, and b) a good functioning car will get a sale more quickly |
