Next Gen solid state batteries are expected to have four times the power density of current batteries,
that will be a watershed moment that sorts the men from the boys and cements Battery Electric future.
Today’s best Lithium Ion batteries will look like lead acid against solid state batteries, very exciting stuff.

OH goody, lower cost cars.......

Perhaps the biggest drawback of all is cost. Solid-state batteries not only require higher densities of rare metals, but their construction technique is wholly different from that of today's lithium-ion cells

You can tell that they want to control anything that can be profitable especially the Bronco and with it Ranger/Everest.

The next six years are not going to see much change with Ranger and Everest but suddenly Ford will offer hybrid and
BEV versions of both to match other brands and diesel Utes will practically disappear within a year or two (2030?)
Most of us can’t imagine that because it just doesn’t make sense today but will when batteries and charging are better.
I'm rehashing old decisions and probably sour grapes as well however when Ford dropped Crown Vic/Town car why didn't they leverage Falcon/LWB as a replacement, why not use Territory as the basis for Edge or Explorer.

Yes it's exciting times, Ford aren't the Lone Ranger there's a lot of companies in the race , with Ford saying not before 2030 that's a lot of water to flow under the bridge......the race is on

Mate, they've been saying this about battery technology for so many years that it now means nothing. "Oh but guys, this new battery technology is coming, I'm telling you, and it's going to have way more power density, it will change the whole automotive industry for ever".

It's not going to be 4x the power density, that's just fairy tales. Until it happens, it's all bogus, the same has been said since over 20 years ago...

South Korea have put their money where their mouth is, investing $15bn in the tech, aiming to be in production by 2030 and the world's first.
