You forgot the oil burning, rear main leaking, over weight, underpowered, ill handling.. rubbish brakes, unless Brembo optioned, etc etc etc. Other than those few issues that other & myself have mentioned they are a good car

I am a V8 man through and through, but no way would I swap a optioned up BF2 XR6T for a cloth seat base model BA GT of similar condition. You would need a fully optioned BA to even remotely consider, I would need to see Brembo's and leather, and may be a sunroof for good measure before even thinking about it.

Swap it for an XB of similar value Hulk. That should see you into a mint 6 cylinder Fairmont with no leaking rear oil seal and you will finally be cool and gain the elusive approvals that you so desperately crave…

If you were serious Hulk i dont think you would have started this thread.
Both cars are worth around the same. No way i would swap a car i know it's full history of for one with double the km's and unknown history. I dont think you are serious because of many reasons, the three main ones being; you stating that you hate the boss engine and that the LS engine is better (having owned both), you stating that the 5 speed is a crap box, you stating that any car that has over 100,000km is old and worn out. You've said all these things in the last year. Mods, ban him again already he's smoking too much crack again |

7850km.... its getting up there for a bf.
What holds me back from the GT is a few things... - 5 speed manual cant handle any decent mods - boss290 needs full exhaust and cams to be remotely fun. - the plastic tensioners in the early boss + coolant flow issue - boss290's arent gonna be collectible in the company of miami v8s and i6t motors. Sort of like the poor cousin. - my xr6t is just perfect at the moment. Needs nothing. Biggest issue though is the 5 speed box.. BUT I am a v8 man... Love fpv cars Boss290 is still very nice motor.. Love a manual v8 cruiser Last edited by HULK_I6T; 28-06-2015 at 08:41 PM. |

Jeez, have you ever even driven the thing? Why don't you get the thing out and use it? It's only a xr6t after all. If I were you I'd stick with the car you have. Since you never use it it really doesn't matter what chunk of metal you have in the garage, and to think about having to DRIVE the GT from the shed it's in now to your shed just gives me chills, I mean, that could put upwards of 5kms on the odo possibly more of he lives further away but that's just too terrible to even comprehend.
BTW, this thread is very obviously a made up scenario so he can compare his car to a GT and come to the conclusion that his is better (on paper).

Stuff the GT, there are plenty of Toyota yards willing to swap you a mint Camry for the XR6T.

The GT isnt the ideal GT being a 5 speeder and not at least late 05 model post plastic tensioners but 14000km is pretty good. Still a damn nice cruiser. Ive owned a boss 5.4 manual before from stock to cammed and then supercharged so i know they are great cruisers. But my xr6t being late 07 bf2 has the typhoon internals, has the glorious zf, with 7850km... like new.. Before i bought the xr6t i was very very close to buying a 6 speed manual ba2 GT with 32000km. Couldnt make my mind up then and someone else bought the GT making my decision easy. At the time i couldnt decide. |

I just can't help but think that if you never drive it, never intend to drive it, does it matter what problems a car may or may not have? Does it matter what car you have at all?

I would go for the GT yes it may cost a little bit more to mod but the sound/feel of a cammed boss 290 is nice .When driving on the road personally a GT will make me turn my head not a xr6t . The plastic tensioners could have been already been replaced . The 5 speed box is fine for a street cruiser .

I don't drive it much as I have other cars
But when I do drive it, nothing better than driving a minter, knowing everything is as new, everything works perfect, still smells new, not a mark on the car, never seen rain. Sure there are plenty new cars out there but not new b series...it's a one of a kind!!..knowing that most b series out there have 20 times the km on the odometer (or more) and drive nowhere near like mine. You just can't get a b series in as good condition, not for love or money. One day hopefully everyone gets the opportunity to drive a mint car when most others of its type on the road are a little rough round the edges. |
