yeah, i thought it looked like an XP too. good to see it was done for a good cause.

should have been a holden tho, cause more people would have paid to see a POS launched off the carrier than the fords lol

RS200, 0-100 in 2.5? secs. Only made a few hundred to homologate it for rallying. Cosworth Turbo? engine plus AWD.

250HP was the stock 1.8 turbo with a 0-100 around 6 seconds - rally version 450HP (fastest) & evo 550HP were in the 2.8/3.1s mark)

Some fans have pulled 1000HP out of the things and driven them on the road though!

So how do we rate fastest - top speed, 0-100, out of the factory, modded?

I would have thought Factory manufactured and 100% stock would be the requirements otherwise there are literally millions of modified Fords out there and the sky's the limit...

Which comes back to the 600RE - The last 10 Ford GTs off the line went to Roush Europe for a serious upgrade. They're even rarer now, that at least one of them was written off a few days after purchase...

Power 612 bhp / 457 KW @ 6200 rpm Torque 748 Nm / 552 ft lbs @ 3800 rpm BHP/Liter 113 bhp / liter Power to weight ratio 0.4 bhp / kg Top Speed 332 km/h / 206 mph 0-60 mph Acceleration 3.7 s
That same engine is in the GT500KR which has just rolled off the line too, but I don't think it will get those figures to the ground in the bulkier, more featured Mustang frame?

I bought a GT alloy block & race ported GT heads and paid $45oo usd for them (New), complete heads and the bare block retails for nearly $1o,ooo but can be had from some dealers as low as $65oo usd.

Funny enough i saw a GT with no options in about the same condition sell for $93,ooo usd a few months back.

I would have thought it'd be a shade quicker as they do 32okph stock, a couple of the guys on the ford GT forums have verified this with GPS.

And no the engine in the Shelby's isn't the same, only the crank & heads are.

Depends on whether it is the fastest or quickest. The RS would be quicker to accelerate because of gearing and traction but the Roush GT with the Whipple supercharger would be the fastest. 720 hp with no changes of gearing takes it to 208mph

Sorry to jump in on a thread like this as a first, i work for Roush currently but came across the forum while looking for work in Geelong.

The Ford GT90 was a concept car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It was unveiled in January 1995, at the Detroit Auto Show as "the world's mightiest supercar". Claimed performance included a top speed 250 mph (402 km/h) from a 720 hp (537 kW) quad-turbocharged V12 engine, the exhaust of which was claimed to be hot enough to damage the body panels, requiring ceramic tiles similar to those on the space shuttle to prevent

this.

I reckon the GT90 has aged incredibly well, still a modern looking supercar by todays standards
