I don't get why they make it so complicated with supply and demand and so on. If we did that in the IT industry, PC's would be like $6000 because of the demand at some points....

Why can't they just buy it for $x, mark it up to total $y, and then change the price when they buy more.....
it's really really silly.... from a drivers point of view...

Again, over night, petrol has jumped about 12cpl AGAIN - and of course, today is the day I have to fuel up. It went from 131.9 to 143.9 - i can bare high prices, but just the large jumps really annoy me....

They must be watching this forum - they just droped it to 139.9... This is sooo stupid.... I just don't understand why they can change it willy nilly

Fuel has gone up here significantly yesterday for the first time in around 2 and a half weeks.

$1.22 to $1.33. Before that, it sat around $1.20 for those 2 and a half weeks.

Damn petrol costs. Its so hard to pick which day I should fill up on these days. Especially with a V8 as a daily driver $1.38 compared to $1.48 saves a fair amount of money!

QLD has it the best, at least their Govt is subsidising it. ACT is on average the 2nd most expensive after Tassy.
As everyone knows, majority of the cost in petrol is in the exercise and then the GST ontop of that.
So much for GST replacing all other taxes - The Govt really screwed us over that one.

Fuel near me went up 18cents over night.
For Standard ULP went from 117.9 to 135.9 in the blink of an eye.... (ASPLEY QLD)

Lucky for me, I only need to fill both cars up once a fortnight, and i filled up a few hours before it went up

Default Fluctuating Fuel Prices

They put the prices up like they do simply because they can !! :jab: After all ENRON have to do something to make a profit of $485 billion dollars in six months.

I can just imagine all these fat overpaid executives smoking big fat Cuban Cigars and drinking fine malt scotch sitting in a board room saying to each other what price can we charge to make bigger and higher profits in the next six months.

I've watched fuel prices down in frankston, victoria the last few days.

Mobil for example..... 128.9 on wednesday morning.
144.9 on wednesday afternoon.
142.9 this afternoon.

Gas was the biggest surprise.... At the corner of Frankston-Cranbourne Rd there are 2 Mobils across the road from eachother.

44.9 for gas wednesday morning
48.9 for gas wednesday arvo
59.9 for gas this afternoon!!

Surely, there is something suss.

That would be good if everyone done it, thats the only way to be effective. No demand, lower prices......

Oh god damned people
You're car enthusiasts on a car forum.
Cars would not run without fuel, hell it's why they run, along with air and electricity.
If you can't afford the fuel, then you shouldn't be on here, and should definately not be bitching about it.

You are correct that this is car forum & if you want to post your 2cents thats fine. But if others have a different view than you than so be it to me it makes interesting reading when you have a range of opinions.

Let's all bash the guy with an opinion that doesn't conform.
I respect and know you all have your opinions, did I say otherwise, or point out individuals? I merely stated that if you're going to complain about fuel prices you shouldn't be here. I'm not going to try and change your opinion on the matter nor force you to leave.

btw I work in a service station.

Well lets get down to tin tacks, where and when did I say you were not entitled to your opinion.

Remember this sunshine I will be the first one to stand up and defend your right to your opinion...whether I agree/disagree with it.

So I guess it boils down to, you can have your opinion but I can't disagree with yours!!!!!!!

Well it was a stupid comment.

Fuel prices don't worry me (6km from work), but I can understand why it concerns others.

And yes, bashing the guy that doesn't conform sounds good...

This was about 630... at about 715 a guy says, just thought you'd like to know that you're selling ULP for 55 cpl....You can imagine how I felt and how good the 4/5 people felt for filling their tank for $10 (don't think the boss was too pleased tho..) Many thanks to the only person honest enough to tell me tho lol

Reminds me of a tank that only cost me $15 a few months ago.

Vortex 98 at 26c/l. Standard ULP was about $1.10!!!

Strange thing around here in Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula consistently has cheaper prices than the rest of Melb and is reported daily on ten news.

http://www.racv.com.au/ have the daily petrol price check which is handy.

Doubt we will see below $1.20 now :(
