Shave about once every two to three months and use a schick, pack of five blades lasts a year no problem.
The missus is'nt to impressed and I always know when its time for a shave by her calling me scruffy.

Yeah just got meself one of the new M3 power jiggers, dunno wether it shaves any better than the old turbo, uses the same blades!! But it feels less likely to cut with the vibrator on!
The old original M3 blades are cheaper than than the turbo and power blades an are all the same mounting. 20 bucks for 8 blades aint to bad for me, only shave twice a week at the most an a blade would last me at least 10 shaves, depending on how many times the g/f uses it to do her legs. |

LuvinmyEB is totally correct. Shaving for women sucks. I hate shaving my legs, under the arms isnt so bad but shaving other THINGS (tm) is rather nasty and also quite dangerous. And the other alternative is waxing. I couldnt be stuffed waxing my legs (takes forever) and waxing other bits (ie Brazillian) I just cant bring myself to do that... so trusty pink bic shavers it is... I will go get the Brazillian done again the day my other half comes with me to get the equivalent done!!!! Hehe.
As for scruffy men, I like mine scruffy and he hates shaving so just as well... and he can grow a FULL beard in two weeks! Id hate to be him, shaving every day!!!! He has a 5 o'clock shadow by 9am!

All you guys are crazy! The Mach III and Turbo variants are marketing gimmicks (although I fell in the trap once :P). I'm back to the good ol' SOLID Mach II, does a much better job if you ask me. If you find this Nivea face wash for men, grab some, it makes shaving so much smoother and I can drag the life of blades out for a whole lot longer hehehe

ummm... haven't used it for a few weeks, but it's a... Gillette sensor XL (I think).
Oh, and I got a Mach3 somewhere too. These are ordinary razors, not electric.

I've used 2 Braun shavers and currently have a Phillishave. I switched from the Braun as the foil hardly lasts 12 months and costs up to $40 - then every second foil you need a new cutter - so its about $70 for both. When the foil needs replacing it catches on the skin and you end up with annoying tiny cuts that won't stop bleeding for 5 mins!
But after using the Phillishave which probably lasts longer before needing new cutters and head, I prefer the Braun as I can shave faster and it cuts through thicker hair. One of the Braun ones is about 15 years old and mains powered, the other was a better model and rechargable, but the battery will no longer hold a charge. The Phillishave's claimed 30 mins shaving time equates to one shave - after that it gets really slow. Considering I just got the Phillishave last year - I'm not going to put it away and get a new foil for the Braun yet.

Mach III N/A. Did have a Turbo, but CBF buying new blades for it. It's cheaper to get a whole new shaver.
Once a week shaver here though, it's lasted the better part of a year.

Ive got myself a Mach3 turbo and a Mach3 Power.
Out of the 2 the power gives me a nicer smoother shave. Well recommended. |

Well, I used to use the Mach 3 turbo then Schick Diamond and then I bought a very expensive Philishave electric wet/dry shaver.
Biggest waste of money ever, I got the worst rash on my face/neck now from this piece of shit. I cleaned/disinfected it and gave it to my missus granddad, his skin seems to be alright with it. Now I shave with a single blade double edged razor and it's a lot less irritating for my skin than the beforementioned shavers. Hopefully this freaking rash will clear up soon. I look like I hit puberty again, lol Last edited by Olympus; 30-03-2005 at 12:28 PM. |

seems interesting, fairly universal opinion that Mach 3 is a ripoff, yet we all hurt ourselves by buying them... They say it's expensive to cover the cost of thieves... how about lowering the price so people don't feel the need to steal them?!?!?!?!! I find they do work a little better, but I am yet to find a razor that really gives me a close shave without needing multiple scrapes up AND down, having tried numerous shaving creams also.

I use some shick tripple blade things. Used them for over a year now. They are great and last a while. I've always been tempted to try the mach III, even though they are expensive. That ferrari looking red one looks nice. Is it just the ricer of shavers though? If it doesn't work that good, then theres no use in getting it!

My hubby just tried that Nair for men hair removal stuff. He thought it would be a nice change to shaving.
Currently he uses disposable blades (Bic, recommended by my father) and the Philishave... I think the electric razor requires new blades cos they just don't do it for him. He gets severe shaving rash all the time so we are going to try different things. Before you blame me, I never use his stuff, EVER. The hair removal stuff warned of itchiness and possible reaction, but he thought he'd try it anyway... after a minute of the stuff being on his neck/face he was running around the house to get to the bathroom to wash it off. It stung severely. He had a reaction to it and his skin came up in huge welts that ended up weeping. Don't use this stuff unless you have thick tough skin. It's vicious!

Well, if you have sensitive skin I would say NO don't bother... but if you are normally ok then give it a go.
Just be very aware and get it off the second it stings
