Oh soooo soooo tempted to get one of these...I could always reason it will be easier to do while my bonnet A is already off my car, B my bonnet has a couple of small dints, C I could relocate the washer jets. Mmm do those 3 reasons justify the cost???

Could you post pics of the under side at all? I'd just like to see how the bracing is done.

I asked the guys at ss auto about when and if they were going to do an AU XR bonnet. He said they made a mistake and did the wrong au bonnet and the XR bonnet is at least 6 months away.
Good news that they plan to make them. |

I spoke to sss auto today, they said that they would see how the series 2-3 bonnet sales go which havent been good, before thay make a XR bonnet..
As I said earlier that they now say they made the wrong bonnet. Before they make an XR bonnet they need to know there is a market for them. if we want them to make one you need to let them know that you want one.. The more people that let them know the better. I hope it happen as I would love a steel hump bonnet for my AU |

If we made a list of people who might/would be interested in an XR bonnet,
We could let SSS auto know what sort of numbers we would be after. I want one |

They made the au 2/3 hump bonnets because sale numbers of there standard au 2/3 bonnet were better than sales of standard Au 1 bonnet.( I think they would sell more au 1/xr bonnets)
If they can't sell enough they won't make them, so I don't think they would make a fairlane bonnet, but you could always ask them. |

I'm in for a series 1/XR bonnet with the hump. Maybe we should get somewhat of a partition together to persuade them?

Ok guy, I asked SSS auto today how many bonnets orders do they need to have for them to make AU1/xr all steel hump bonnet.
They said.. We won't de doing them unless we have sales for 1000 bonnets. Not the best news!!! All I need now is 999 more guys who want one... |

sorry about the really delayed response. I finally had time to get an underside photo haha. here you go. reason why i've angled it is so you can see the bulge part raising. the bonnet is about the same weight as the standard one too. cheers.
