Mine is a weird one too, then again I factory ordered it so that probably says a lot about me then. Mine has side curtain airbag option, but no safety pack, premium sound, but no luxury or tech pack, and the 18's and ZF auto when 17's and 5 speeder were standard and the blue cloth trim. May 08 build. And yes, I have every piece of paper relating to it in a folder, a blue one no less!

Those early FG's were the last Falcon's that you could pick and choose what you wanted. Ford got rid of factory options on later builds to reduce cost/complexity.

(Sorry for the thread de-rail )

If you can afford to keep, then do it and see how it goes. You can always reassess at any future point.

From my own personal viewpoint, I am also having the occasional thought of selling mine (2014 GT manual with 16k klms) as basically driven the same car for 11 years (had FG 315 manual prior). Not much choice as replacement apart from Mustang and Camaro as still want a manual, preferable a V8.

Selling thoughts disappear after a spirited drive or when pulling up to the garage, roller door rising and seeing that FPV panda eyed front end with iconic GT badge gleaming. Getting emotional now...

Just do the opposite of what the Hulk suggests, cause that is always the correct answer

My BA GT is worth more to me than the cash I would get for it if I sold it, so when I bought my Mustang I kept it.

Yes you pay two lots of rego and insurance but so what. Just couldn't part with it

What you'll find is that its weird going back to driving a Falcon after a Mustang . In the Mustang you feel so low and the bonnet is long. In the Falcon/FPV it's like getting into an SUV

The Mustang is not a good car for back seat passengers so if I need to cart people around I like the fact I can take the FPV

In the 18 months of Mustang ownership my BA GT has done a mere 1,200 kms

I'd see if your Mustang lasts more than a few months before letting go of the Falcon.

When they work, they out handle, out perform (except in gear acceleration) and are just better than the Falcon in every way... except build quality and reliability.

2 Mustangs in a couple of months has me off Mustang and enjoying my GTF.

I've been holding on to my FG-X Xr8 since new. Have the mustang as a daily.

Xr8 is great, but mustang just seems to better it in most aspects.

Looking to buy a BMW 5 series, and apparently the finance minister says I can't own 4 cars!!! One has to go. Xr8 or Mustang. So far leaning towards selling the XR8.

Would sell the 200 series, but need it for towing....

I will probably regret it. Its a tough choice.

I have a thing for cruisy performance sedans but love the stang too.

Logic says not to have 2 cruisy sedans. Test drove a BMW 530d yesterday. Wow....

I sat in a new BMW 330i, it felt nearly the same size as the 5 series. The 5 from memory felt a little wider. It would be worth testing the new 3 series too. It will have later generation tech too. The BMWs have a great driving position and seats.

I like the running numbers on the plates very kool.
That must have been a stroke of luck.

Oh and I did own a fgx XR8.. it's boring to drive seriously. Great car specs wise but not engaging at all on our roads. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
Just because someone doesn't own one that doesn't mean they can't have an opinion about it.

Perhaps some people here wanted an FPV but they couldn't afford it or needed a wagon or a 4x4 or a ute and couldn't afford to own two cars.

If these forum were restricted to people only commenting on things they have real world experience with then each thread would be pretty bare.
