Well, not that rare model but rare in the sense that it seems to have had not much use but I saw an EB2 Fairmont Ghia 5.0litre - everglade with full grey leather interior advertised in sydney last week with a genuine documented 3,450km, obviously presented as brand new and the price was $19k.

at least 2 ... mine is july 91. only 96500km at the moment. bought it at 64000 over 3 yrs ago. as far as i can tell they are genuine km's. car is far from stock though. among other things it also has a manual box now.

not to steer away from the ghias, but how would i find out from ford how many series 1 EB xr8's were made and would it be possible to find out what number build my xr8 is?
my EB xr8 is a sept 91 car (like ratmans) but black and manual... just curious as i have a wheels magazine from august 91 saying "first drive eb xr8".... so be interesting how many were made between august and sept of 91... might not mean much, more my own curiosity.

back to the ghias again i know an older couple who have a 91 ghia, v8 auto that was an ex cop car (victorian federal police if i remember correctly in the log book), leather trim, twin 2.5in exhaust (not sure about that being factory tho) and is blue... is very nice and they the 2nd owners.

I don't think mine is all that common either.

91 EB1 Ghia Wagon in Black Pearl.

Mine is a six though, but I have not seen that many early EB Ghia Wagons with the darker leather in them.

And certainly not many in Black Pearl.

Cheers

IIRC they were building the V8's as early as may 1991

no build numbers allocated to the XR8's, only the GT's, even the ED XR8 Sprint's didnt get build numbers

if you're feeling really keen, track them all down and you can allocate them a build number by VIN (good luck, half wouldve been destroyed by now)

Thats a nice Wagon , if i only had the money..

as to anyone wanting to know about their car , contact Ford , as i did .
They supplied me with an official letter stating Model number , options etc , when it left the factory , and how many of the particular model was made .

I personally have seen numerous EB Ghias on the road ,

BUT , Badges are stick on ,,,,,,, I'd like to see the ID Plate with Model number ,before i was convinced either way ,
Not that i'm putting a negative spin on things [or really worried ]

Just i prefer proof before i say much ..

Attached ,selection of letter , Name , Vin , etc cropped out ,,

As i said , contact Ford , give them the cars Vin , and you'll know fer sure .
Cheers , and Happy New year to all...

Default I've got a factory 92 ghia s/w 5.0

Got this for basically $850 after swapping a bike for a 4x4 then swapping that for this wagon.
Trans is a bit stuffed and has a water leak from back of motor but nothing major. the body is in reasonable condition but needs a tidy and color change.
I'm happy as with my score and to find out that there was only 27 made makes it just that much more unique.

In 1992 only 30 V8 Ghia's were produced ,,
28 were Auto , And 2 Manual as per custom order ..
i have a certified , and i quote [Certified] letter from Ford about
this , but you can ring them , and ask for conformation from their
libraries ..they only quote 1992 ,, not eb11 or eb1
I Have on EB11 Dated 12-14/10/92 [AS per dates written on inside of
mouldings , back of instruments etc..]

As per OP apparently only 2 (two) were factory manual in 1992.

Powdered Toast Man - What year is yours? Could be really really super special!
