Shows like Today Tonight and ACA are not interested in fair and balanced stories. They enjoy playing to their audience which is mad up of over-50's middle class Australians who think the country is full of dole-bludging, single-mum hoons, of ethnic or aboriginal decent.

If you want a balanced story then talk to Four Corners.

If you're ever approached by TT or ACA give them no comment. Even if you happen to shoot the reporter down in flames and portray car guys as the most law abiding citizens in Australia it'll just end up on the cutting room floor (or the delete bin seeing that everything is digital now). They're only interested in sensationalism, not fairness.

Well it's not hard to guess your age is it?

Mate, it was meant as a sarcastic generalization, because it's exactly what those show do. There would be no denying though that those shows are directly targeting the fears of our older citizens.

Most (but not all) older people think:
*All young people are out to get them
*All P platers are automatically hoons
*All single mother are dole bludgers
*All muslims are terrorists
*All abo's are petrol sniffing trouble makers
*All modified car owners hoons

The current affairs type programs play up to this kind of nonsense and the senior citizens eat it up - because they're preaching to the choir.

Cant beat a winning formula :Reverend:

But it's quite funny how threads start on this and other forums about a story people saw on TT/ACA and how evil some people are. Than watch the posters go wild, never seeing the story or knowing the facts and thinking that ACA/TT are preaching gospel.
As soon as I hear or read someone say TT/ACA when complaining I switch off and put up the 3 inch thick BS plexiglass filter.
