i have no need to try and impress those who don't matter, so i'll take the nissan
the only car that is pose worthy is a mclaren - simply because posing is only a small part of the experience |

I like both cars tremendously. But given the choice, I'll take speed and AWD grip every day. |

Following that logic it would be like calling a Nissan a Renault. |

No, Datsun was started up away from Nissan (trading under a differnet name), who bought Datsun in the 30's...it was then that Nissan started manufacturing cars under both Nissan and Datsun brands.

Yes the GTR is probably one of the fastest production cars going around, but at the end of the day it is still just a Nissan. You can get it serviced at any Nissan Dealer, it shares some components with lesser models like the Maxima and US market Skyline, and still has the same badge as a 13k Micra.
The Ferrari on the other hand, is and always will be a Ferrari, the mere fact that it's a Ferrari ensures that it will always be special. Every little bit of it from the indicator stalks, to the V12 engine is special, there is no comparison. The Ferrari is a Supercar, the GTR is a Racecar. While the GTR is still faster than the Ferrari, they both sit equally well on the speed limit, most owners will never venture past the carpark of a racetrack and most of them will spend the majority of their days sitting in a garage gathering dust, and at the end of the day, the Ferrari will always command a greater interest. Some people though will never underatand that some things are just finer than others, depite what the numbers on paper say. In the end, one is a highly prestigious, much sought after supercar, the other is a Nissan. |

If you want a *fast* car, I'd go the GT-R. If you wanted attention, and refinement, go the Ferrari. Remember, the GT-R is fast, but compared to the Ferrari it was done on a small budget, as a result savings have been made, and it isnt as refined as the Ferrari. But for the money?!?

You cannot compare these two car brands as they are not targeted to the same market they are selling to, so its irrelevant
In saying that id own a ferrari but id never be able to afford one, so thats out of the question. Id also own a GTR over any brand of ford has ever produced just because nissans are better built and better on the road. Yes i have owned both nissans and fords This ferrari is made maily for the american market In an ideal world id own a car for the family, a car for the road, a car for the race tracks , a car for cruising and a car for offroad Can one car do this and still be the king of everything, NO |

Wow, two pages arguing over a Ferrari V's GTR...
Are people too dim-witted to accept the fact that both are great cars? Nissan are a company that represents most sectors, from Micro cars to 4X4's, and have built a car that is a showcase of technology, innovation and representation of Nissans motorsport past. The GT-R is a car that can be serviced through Nissans range of dealerships just like a Micra can be. That it nothing short of impressive, a car that can play with the exotic cars of the world, without the exotic maintenance. Ferrari make exotic play toys, for the rich and wealthy, with years of motor sport heritage and a history of beautifully designed pininfarina bodies. Every kid has had a Ferrari poster on their wall growing up (until they hit teens, then the luscious curve belong to something else...)

There is a reason why Ferrari does not test their cars at the Nurburgring … and that has mostly to do with the fact that many much cheaper cars (e.g. GTR) will absolutely spank them on such a track …
A Ferrari is a true Italian spirit, and that means there is a lot more to the show and the drama than actual substance … when comparing that to the brutal precision engineering of the Germans or the Japanese you are simply comparing apples and oranges … For most people who want to be ‘seen’ or ‘believe’ they are special there is Ferrari … for other people who want to crack records at the Nurburgring there is only one choice … the GTR, V-spec preferably |

Ferrari has proved itself in racing and by the amount of big dollar classics it has. Japanese tech thats copied from everyone else, with ugly styling thats a pastiche of everyone elses... Germans make nice cars, if not the most reliable. |

i realise that f1 isn't the only racing, but without 2 germanic individuals, ferarri would still be waiting for their next post surtees/64 title. ferrari have been the most under achieving team at the pinnacle of racing. all of that money - all of that attention to detail . . . and all of those failures if it wasn't for niki and michael, the team would have been the laughing stock for almost 50 years |

Lets just pile crap on Japan because they obviously don't know anything about car making and technology... Or better yet, just stop trying to make a point.
