Been booked once since I started driving in 1998 and I've done over 300,000km of driving since I got my licence so I'm pretty happy with that record
Was caught about 2 weeks after getting my licence doing 73km/h in a 60km/h zone. Left me with 1 point on my P's... Very nervous year that one. Ironically I think that road has now been changed to a 70km/h limit, figures. Anyhow, they haven't caught me since ;) |

Been done a few times for 5-8km/h over the limit, but my 2 shameful ones are..
Mucking about one night tramped the go peddle with an unmarked behind me...got me on a radar fair and square 85 in a 60 1 more km/h over and bye bye licence...3 points 165 bucks I think and my most shamful...(waits to be flamed) 98 in a 50....yeah I know stupid and all...moment of madness. just opened 2nd gear up and was a quick squirt...TMU got me on radar...should have lost the licence for 12 months, took it to court and ended up with 6 months and 220 fine plus about 40 bucks in court costs...I learnt my lesson...I now have only 1 point for the next three years...

Destroyed my first liscence by speeding, speeding and more speeding (I think about 5 or 6 seperate fines ranging from 5 or 6 to 20 or 30 over the limit) and I think a couple for not displaying P's.
Came off my p.s 1 week after gettign my liscence back (they only suspended, not cancelled, how awesome is that, I was so lucky on that one) and since then I have only received one speeding fine, albeit a very large one. 104 in a 60 zone. another 2km/hr and bye bye second liscence. That was about a year ago and I haven't been touched since. I blame the upgrade to a sportier car. |

Three speeding fines to date. All have been for doing between 10 to 15km/hr over the posted speed limit. However on one occassion I was actually doing 20km/hr over the speed limit but the nice policeman only marked it as 15km/hr which saved me a couple of demerit points and a few bucks.

As for me, never been booked, though I do expect "my luck to run out", I'm an advocate of planting the accelerator to the metal when I'm overtaking on broken lines on a straight stretch of road (single vehicle - at worse an HC)- the less time I spend there, the better. |

I thought mine was pretty funny - but you had to know the car.
I got booked when I was on my P's for doing 78k's in a 60 zone in my 1978 Toyota corolla. We figured out by looking at the photo, that it was the peak speed I had reached from a stand still several hundred meters ago. I had dropped my GF off at work, floored it (which is the speed of any modern car taking off at a normal speed) and slowed down. At my peak, the copper took the picture.
