I know quite a few blokes that work on the side of the road and have their lives put at risk every day by bellends that don't slow down through road works.

Drive quick over gravel if you want, but if you speed through road works then you deserve a shovel through the windscreen.

It's everyone's pet hate I think. I had two nice marks put onto the bonnet of my car when it was only a few months old. If I ever catch one of these people in the act they better run and run fast. :jab:

worst one I saw was at a train station car park years ago @ night, was sitting there waiting to pick a mate up..

See this guy and girl leaving, he guns it in reverese hits the ute in the tailgate thats parked opposite behind him, leaves a massive dent in it!!, stops for about 3 seconds, then screams out of the car park...

did not have time to grab his details, just took off.. no note, no sorry, no nothing, must have been p1ssed i reckon at the way he reveresed it

I hate them.

I came back to my ute one time and there was some nice eye catching white paint left on my back bumper. No sorry or anything. If you're going to damage someones car, atleast have the balls to own up to it.

I bought a brand new BA Xt wagon, 2 weeks old not a mark on it. I parked at the little kanwal shops. Parked the car. I got out..had lunch, returned too car. As i retuned to the car a lady in a brand new honda prelude parks beside my car. She opens the door which hit my car. Didn't dent it luckily, seeing as it hit my car quite hard, but left a nice scratch. I said politley" excuse me but you just hit my car with your door". She gave me a mouth full of trash language and I lost it. So I booted her car door as hard as I could and put a real beauty of a dent in it. So much so I jammed her power window so it wouldn't go up or down. I leaned down to her level and said.." you show no repect for my property, so I show not respect for yours"...Then she tried to spit on me which didn't work. Anyway, I got in my car and left....Never heard or have been contacted by anyone. I'm a redhead and a real fiery bugger, but if she was sincere and apoligetic I would have accepted it and walked away, but she blamed me....WTF. I had the last laugh...

Cheers.

Granted my car isn't the newest flashiest car on the forum, but it sheets me no end when I see a new ding in my pride and joy due to a careless shopping centre oxygen thief. Far and away, the worst shopping centre for parking lot morons has to be Broadmeadows shopping centre (Melbourne)

Out of necessity I have to park my AU XR6 at a train station every day. Ive noticed some damage done to it. Nothing big but just little marks that seem to just appear. I came out to the car one day last week to find somebody had finger wrote on the bonnet and windscreen on my car and the guy next to me's car. Its disconcerting.

thats a good one
generally when i take the good car someone usually stays in it if we're just gonna be 10 mins or so my mate was in there one day waiting, had this car park next to me so he wound down his window and told the guy to move as there was nowhere near enough room to open his door haha

Whenever I see a car hit another parked car, I always leave a note with the rego and make of the vehicle that hit them. I then leave my name and phone number so that I can be a witness. Sure enough you get the phone call, and the person is thrilled to have someone defending them. Met my last girlfriend that way too.
But most importantly, the selfish bastard who hits them hasn't gotten away, as once a police report is filed, they usually speak to the owner of the vehicle and usually spot some kind of damage and suggest that a witness saw them. Then the insurance companies fight it out.

One of my favourites was a woman in a new ML500 who hit her door hard against a fairlane. It was in a carpark at a cafe in Leichardt, and you could see quite a substantial dent. I told her as she walked into the cafe that she should leave a note. She told me to F off so I advised her that I'd leave a note on her behalf. She threatened to get her brothers down there to bash me so I did the next best thing and called the police and told them someone was trying to intimidate me with violence after becoming aware of my witnessing them leave the scene of an accident. 20 minutes later the police arrived, spoke to the woman, and I flagged down the bloke with the Fairlane. One police report later this bloke was thrilled with having someone offer to pay for the damages, and I had this woman apologise and tell me that she was always going to leave a note anyway, and that I should really have minded my own business.
All in a days fun I guess.

I was parking at work once (safeway) and I pulled into a car park and scratched a brand new VY "S" commodore... i wasn't aiming for it either :P

Anyway, I stuck around to wait for the owner to return, we exchanged insurance details ect... and all was well.
Until I got a letter from their lawyer 2 months later, they wanted to take me to court for $3500 worth of damages to their car.

They wanted new quarter panel, both drivers side doors, sill, mud guard, front bar, new headlights and new "SS" badges. And they wanted the entire car resprayed.
Fair enough for one new door skin as it had a ripple in it, but all it needed was to be resprayed.
The mark was only on 2 doors, it wasn't really a scratch, more like my paint on their car.

Now i did the right thing, and waited and gave my insurance info, but they ended up telling the insurance company to off, and went after me instead.

By this time, i had already paid my excess, so if they were going to sue anyone, it would be my insurance company...

What pricks, its no wonder people do a runner...

I used to park my old XD in the carpark at work, and I came out one day to find the trolley guys sitting on their tractor, with their feet up on my bonnet!! out:
It may have been an old car, but I put a lot of work into it, and I looked after it. They copped it in English and Arabic for that. (primary school came in handy for something)
After that they'd just park the tractor across the spot I parked in while they went to lunch. Several times I was ready to leave, and had to sit there for an hour waiting for them to come back.

I also had a trolley pushed down the side of it. It only had cruddy Acrylic paint, and went right through to the undercoat. I wasn't happy.

I agree 100% - Only an idiot would go through road works at mach 1 while people are working. Coming home a 3am is a different story..
