Agree. LHS indicator makes stuff-all difference on an auto, but on a manual it's fine 95% of the time - the remaining 5% it's an absolute pest, like when needing to make a snap decision to change lanes, indicate, and drop a gear in city traffic or overtaking.

Benz used to change their cars for Australia. I'm 99% sure GM have changed the new Astra to RHS, too.

Yeah but think about where it was designed... in Germany. Germany is LHS steering wheel and therefore LHS indicator.

For right hand drive, the indicator should be on the RHS. But granted it doesnt really make much of a difference except when you need to do things rather quickly like in city driving in a manual.

I'd highly recommend Bayford in Epping if you're nearby, very happy with them so far. Multiple visits and to their credit are always courteous, helpful, clear with prices and informative. Almost always hit the nail on the head even with tough problems.

The interesting thing is the current Holden Astra has the indicator stalk on the right hand side of the steering wheel - one of the few Euros where the manufacturer has bothered to relocate the stalk.

True that. Props to Holden for doing that IMO.

I think this is all off thread boys.

Let's settle it once again.
Some like the indicator on the left. Good.
Some the right.Good.

NOW GET OVER IT.

None is safer than the other, the biggest issue is still the incompotent fool behind the wheel.

I'm joining Matts grumpy club.
