Nice and relaxed with an ice cold VB next to the keyboard... :

What a great night Friday night, I had a mission, and wanted to take out the NA and Forced records out, one after the other, and after having ripped out the 11.6 @ a monster 120mph I knew the track was "on" (the 1.7 was my fault - it should go mid 1.6 but i wont complain)

The NOS was a major wakeup call. I had a lowly 100shot in which is my baseline, and it shows a tough 400rwkw plus on the pump, with about 350 of those at 3500rpm........

having 350rwkw on launch is nice - i put all the trim back into the car bar a few small items, car weight back up to 1700kg for the meeting, and whoa!

Hit me like a tonne of bricks!

First pass was a 10.70 off the trailer with spanking new tyres, and the car never bettered that pass, however managed 2 more 10.7's, 2 10.8's, a 10.90 and a sideways 11.0.

best "all round" pass was an 10.76@129mph. all the 60's were 1.5's.

I raced more twin turbo's than i could care to remember, but was never beaten by any of them.

Funny how much you learn in such a short period, but i already have a list of things i know i can improve on.

Special thanks to Craig, as usual my man on the spot with the tyre guage/Nos bottle/bag donuts, and AGRO, who provided much in the way of entertainment and drank lots of beer. Daniel (AU2PWR) and whoosha, Cams290 came over - 3 great guys, was good to shake their hands, just a pity i didn't get to share a bourbon bottle with Cam again - but Cam if your reading this, after I ran the 10.70, the Holden boys seemed to calm down a little. Next year, they wont have much to brag about, i'll make sure of that lol

One thing i did learn on the weekend, is that LS1 turbo's bleed.

And if it bleeds, we can kill it.

Thanks for all the kind words. Im going back into hiding

Chris

Pigs you are, the weather is getting cooler, surely calders track is improving, about 3 cars that i know of that have one little goal each they want to achieve. Forget hiding pal as you would say "it's game on" and we aren't here to .... spiders.

Hi Con, Hows things?

I am not very experienced with Nitrous, so i was curious on the fuel and to whether or not it would benefit me.

On the Friday night i ran the 10.70 and NA 11.6 with pump fuel.

On the Saturday, I tried the race fuel, best I got was a 10.76 but picked up 2 mph. I also noticed the 60 was the same.

The motor is a stock 290 and has been opened to fit oil pump gears. I have also tried several different sets of camshafts in this engine, without seeing any real benefit.

Like i said, a newbie to Nos here so im not too sure how aggressive to go - i am concerned about many things regarding the Boss engine and a wet shot, maybe we could chat sometime about it, i have heaps to learn.

The NOS is only a stop-gap thing until my blower kits are ready, maybe i should go further but im not sure how much the stock pistons and rods will handle.

I did see a white CV performance commodore up there, i would have loved to have seen the HYPA deal in the flesh.

How did you guys go? were you there? i would have said Hi if i had of known...

There was a CV Perf white Commodore sedan there Chris, remember when i disappeared on friday night with the tow rope, went down to the bottom of the track to give the guy a tow back to the pits, it spat a belt off from memory.

I am sure there will be a bottle of Jim Beam coming my way....
