well thats unexpected. funny how what initially started as a relatively small amount of people jumping ship eventually overturned the original one. it does appear the person running this site has bought out a whole lot of forums in a hope to create something massive and cool, but i dont think he has much hope.
long live ff.com.au! |

Anyway, now that it's gone, what exactly happened with FFUS when it was the FF?? - from the heresay I've heard, LunaticSVT wanted to bring in ads, limit searches, introduce pop-ups and limit the content of the Australian based forums. He also banned most aussie mods at the same time, then the aussie mods launched FFAU? Correct me if Im wrong. |

Reading the "new FF.com" is very entertaining, everyone going nuts at the new owners haha.. I love it.. those guys would've spent thousands acquiring all the forums, setting up their "serverfarm" (which I call BS on, too slow to be dedicated servers unless it's a few P1's under some dudes bed, on an ADSL connection).. and they're nice big plan for world.. i mean.. forum domination has gone down the drain faster than $5 of petrol in a 351
SUCKED IN. They're now the intrawebs current 15 minutes of laughter. |

I know because I have been on there telling them how crap it is. They gave up deleting bad posts because they can't keep up. |

because half the people didnt actually leave there, they used both forums...
i used to go there every few weeks and check up on the windsor and clevo section, as well as the for sale section.... as did many members... this is why we're kicking up a stink about it |

My ratio for using both forums was 75% here and 25% there. I used the clevo and classic falcon section alot there.

I've been a member of both, but only for a few months. The old ff site was great for Clevo tech & advice, with many knowledgable blokes over there. It seems like most have come here & I hope the advice & tech keeps flowing. Long live the Clevo!

Please be patient RE: Merger to Autoforums.com
Please be patient as we sort out the merger. I realize that some of you are aware that the owner of this site LunaticSVT has sold the site to Autoforums.com. There was a merger to that site this weekend. It is my understanding that they have realized the error of this merge and are allowing the five or six clubs that they obtained return to their former platform. I am still verifying this information so please sit tight and check Ford Forums in the next few days to see the final outcome. Again thank you for your patience whilst we sort this out. if you need to contact me in the interim please feel free to send me an email to GMACK24@yahoo.com (Please do not use that email to spam me. Just use it to find out information about the merge) Again as it stands I am still confirming if we can still use our old platform (Fordforums.com) Thank you for your time. So you could be going back and using the original layout again? I'm a bit lost with the above message
Seems even if that happens, damage as already been done....a sell and merge has been done leaving all members and sponsors in the lurch without prior knowledge or say in matter. After all...without the support of users and sponsors there would be no forum |

Not "would" be no forum. "Is" no forum ;) It was just plain stupid and rodderz is spot on. The damage is already done. No-one wants to think it won't happen again but precedance has already been set.

and from that experience you will find most won't follow. I do also see that ( Last time i looked ) on the new site that the forums bought over are all now saying N/A so does this mean they are no longer part of that group or is it a retreat and rethink before it is moved back ? In saying that i can see what the intentions were in making a large one home fits all forum as the advertising and promotional $ if it was to work properly would be huge and thus the site would be worth buckets. I also noted that it was stated they would have 10 plus sites by the end of the week, also a great plan gone wrong, where they would have bought the few then the others on the list would have felt if we dont sell we may loose all of our people to this new site and end up with squat, very clever if it worked, then there were all of the empty forums waiting to be filled. looked like a great plan, and they have now reversed all thinking. This in a way is a bit like car clubs as in if everyone wanted to be in the same group there would be one club for all. ( not saying it cant work if done right ) It may have been better ( as i often say to sell shiete wrapped in chocolate ) and to have all of the forums stay isolated with thier own identity's but link them like children to the mother ship ( for want of better words ) then over time slowly fold them into the main fold with the approval of the forum members. I hope the new / revamped site can recover but i think all intentions are laid on the table for all to see, and it also plain that profit was put before the people and that will never work so long as people have feet. they can learn from this site as to how to do things right as a true leader only has to look behind the to see who is following, unfortunatley i don't see many followers going back to a bad tatse of leadership & direction combined with poor treatment. Wishing all a good outcome. Pete |
