There's is nothing I can say to ad to what has already been said by those who feel the way they do about what has happened to that poor pup. This and the Flamingo incident in the last 24 hours is almost too much to bear. I love all animals g'reat and small, and although I too eat meat, this is obviously so far removed from what is considered a moral practice - slaughtering animals in a humane and legal way, that no one should feel the need to justify it anymore. I feel absolute horror and disgust.

As for the facebook link, I think you may have to be a member. Here's what it said:

That made me nearly bring my lunch up...

I think there needs to be an overhaul of the justice system for these types of offenses, otherwise its going to continue. People who do this sort of thing are sick in the head and deserve jail time, and i reckon start it at 15yrs+

Is there a new drug getting round that makes people want to attack harmless animals???

disugusting, it really is.

Oh and the link to the news story doesn't seem to work.
Unfortunately there's more than just those ones. I don't think it's appropriate for me to list all the other documented cases that I've heard over the year as those that have heard them probably don't want to hear them again, and those that havn't heard them probably don't want to hear them at all. The world is a sad place at the moment in regards to the poor treatment of animals.

That petition is growing fast. I was around #1600 which was about 15mins ago and now its up to 3231 signatures.

Lets hope they reach the target.

I've told all my friends on facebook, myspace and through email. I know a lot of them won't want to read something like that, but they need the signatures

*shakes head*

It seems like there is so many funny and informative chatter on this site, then more recently we get more and more news about scum doing such cruel things to animals.

The thought of the poor little fella trying to get away on his bloody stumps made me want to throw this desk im at across the office.

If only we were all given a get out of jail free card and found out where this blokes live.

On the upside, its great to see so many people horrified and concerned about such acts, we are not alone.

Same - I dont know what to say, in many ways I hope that is not the law that offers payback as I doubt it will ever punish them enough for their actions - too much of this rubbish happening and I have no idea why

Turns my stomach. Who gets off doing something like this to an animal. It's bad enough someone would attack a defenseless pup, but to this level? This makes me so angry.

It's becoming more common, that's for sure.

Something just as bad happened at a school down here... The school's pet (I think it was a rabbit) was cut open and had its entrails dragged around the enclosure. It was also pregnant, to boot. Sad, sad times.

Stuff like this makes me sick !. I'm not a violent person, but - I would have no problems bashing someone for doing something as inhumane as that !.

You know the reality is they broke into someones yard/house and STOLE the dog.. Someones family pet is valued higher than any material asset, yet if it was a big TV and a wad of cash or jewelry they'd be on trial for more than a 4 month stint. I hope the prospector and their defence lawyers are animal lovers and rip these kunts a new ******** for the boys in jail to play with for a long time...

just sick. I just cannot express how much my heart sinks when I read this stuff.

When I was that age, the worst thing I did to an animal was hit a moths with the front of my car at night.

What satisfaction can u get from mutilating an animal?

Lock them up.

Tie them up

Let animal lovers get five minutes each with them.

If they wern't discovered would a child be their next victim???????

Many psychologists etc have stated that people that torture and or kill animals, etc have been known to kill humans later on. So thankfully these monsters were caught.

These oxygen thieves need to disappear - disgusting creatures :

This is one case i'd certainly say the 'treatment' from the SAW series would be justified.
