Heres The answer to all your problems!!!

Ive had this before- Its NOT the servos, AU's have a little flap inside the fuel filler neck that is designed to stop massive overflow and prevent easy siphoning. Basically what goes wrong is a little bearing inside the flap, seizes and the falp doesnt fully open when the fuel is being pumped in, therefore the petrol bowser thinks yor tank is full!!

Costs about $20 to get a replacement done by Ford and trust me its worth it.

Might of been the case for your car , its possible i suppose , but in my case it was definatelly the fuel bowsers. Makes it hard to pinpoint the problem of the 2 straight up though without a bit of trial and error. Good to hear another point to the problem though incase someone else has one of these problems.

small question... how the f#@K do u remove the old filler neck? been struggling with a huge lock nut of some description around the neck of the filler, and it just wont budge. looks as if it was installed using some sort of special tooling. doesn't surprise me either, these pricks never like to make it easy for us.

also found it difficult to remove the plastic shroud covering the filler neck (from inside the boot) but with about half an hour of twisting and pushing and a few bared knuckles later i finally managed to get that bit out.

ok, my last post was a little premature. i just held up my sword and called upon the power of greyskull, then i turned green and hulked up, climbed inside the boot and gave it one last mighty effort and the nut came loose.
