Will not happen, for starters the Fusion os strictley Left Hand Drive. Secondly, if the Mondeo isn't selling in huge numbers, that won't change with the Fusion. Thirdly, the Mondeo will more than likely take over from the fusion in future generations in the US, as FORD strive for a global product line.

Also, have you driven a Mondeo, I haven't driven either, but on looks aside the Mondeo wins in my books, and as for Mondeo's 'disappointing sales' haven't Ford had supply problems with most of their European cars?

Ford Europe were for the last 18mths struggling for spare capacity to build the award winning range of vehicles that it sells and that meant Australia had to wait it's turn for many vehicles.

That is not the case now with many country markets down between 20 & 50%, which means that really Ford Aus should be able to get more Mondeo's etc. The excuse might have some weight for the next month or two, but after that it shouldn't.

The falcon sales are comfortable i think, very minor change from last year. You cant hope for it to be selling much more then 3000.

But Am i correct in saing that falcon platorm cars outsold Commodore platform cars?

three things.

1. Do you realy think for have the Cash flow to do a whole new Territory.
2. It got a midlife update, to go to a whole new design would be a waste of money, the model is only what 5 years old?
3. Its sales drop looks no worse then some other cars.

Does anyone have Mazda's sales?

They were doing really well last month with Mazda2 and Mazda3 - they unseated Toyota in the small car segment. That's some achievement!

Yep I noticed that too. Massive sales hits for the Commodore, Statesman, Caprice, Utility, Epica etc.

GM sold 2,705 Pontiac G8s in the US in feb up just over 100% from 1331 sales in january. GM was down a little more than 50%. Excellent showing considering the shape of the US market.

If that trend continues the US will be a bigger market for the commodore than here...

The question is at what price did GM move them? Almost anything will move at a cheap enough price.

0% finance for 5 years or $3000. V8s are moving much better than V6s.

Ford should honestly be happy because the way I see it we are selling more locally built cars than Holden? We are only running a skeleton shift and everything is build to order. That is much more sustainable than having 18,000 cars in a field picking daisies........

It was posted earlier in the thread and is the general number that is thrown around whenever one of these topics pops up. No-one but Holden knows the real figure, but if you have cars sitting in Dubai and the US gathering dust as well as xxxx amount at home, all is not well.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of numbers the new Fiesta can dowhen supply comes on stream and how that will affect the 2 (and Yaris for that matter).

What may also be interesting is how it affects Ford's ability to upsell people into Focus'...

Focus sales are very up and down for some reason. They will sell heaps one month and lots less the next. Hard to work out why.

The Fiesta will do 2000 a month if Ford can ever build enough of them, which it doesn't look like they will be able to for the rest of this year and by then the competition might have caught up somewhat. In the meantime it kinda cool having the only one in town while everyone willing to wait has there's on order with a ETA of July

Very true re Fiesta. It's been selling well and it's attracting people who normally buy a Yaris or Jazz.
